DJ Basilisk charts a course to the outer reaches of space and sound with ESOTERIC EXPANSE 6, the sixth in an ambitious series of mixes devoted to sonic world-building and cross-genre experimentation. This epic journey spans more than 4 hours and features 62 tracks ranging from the abyssal depths of ambient to high octane psychedelic trance. Abstract and glitchy IDM set the mood, evolving into cybernetic electro and modular techno as the pace quickens, eventually breaking through to mind-melting darkpsy and the eerie gloom of forest music. Engines reverse after reaching a peak at 155 BPM, beginning a tumultuous descent through bewitching twilight, energetic full-on, and new school Goa trance, finally grounding out with wispy traces of tech house and dub techno, experimental bass music, and ice-cold ambient.

DJ Basilisk returns to the ecstatic idealism of the early 1990s on TRANSMISSIONS FROM LYONESSE, the latest in an ongoing series of concept mixes documenting electronic music subcultures of the past. This time around the journey leads from scintillating ambient techno arpeggios and idyllic IDM to the raging heights of full-on Goa trance (and back again). Ultimately the aim is to capture some of the magic of the outdoor festival experience circa 1996, particularly in the UK and continental Europe. Many of these tracks are rough around the edges, and several have been lightly edited and remastered exclusively for this mix.

In this episode, ALEX BOSHKE TOLSTEY presents 'Infinite Fadeout'. This is the first two hours from 18 hours of nonstop set played and recorded in Joshua Tree, California in May 2023. A tribute to fresh James Holden album in this particular part of the mix. There is an intimate celebration party in the high desert of Mojave, California, at the deep and beautiful nature of one of its kind place on earth – Joshua Tree National park, this is happening every year since 2012 and Alex is usually playing there his famous extended nonstop sets where he tries to present all the possible psychedelic dance music to the dancers and space travellers who are lucky to participate in this happening, sometimes those sets lasted for almost 24 hours. Alex Tolstey also known as Alex Boshke ( 1977) is an USSR born and Israel raised producer and DJ , who’s career in electronic music spans over 25 years . As an original founder of Boshke Beats Records in 2000, Alex executed more then 250 releases by today and is well known in the global trance and techno community as one of the originators of psychedelic techno movement over the globe. Basilisk is a veteran multi-genre DJ, co-founder of the psychedelic techno label @Techgnosis-Records alongside @benramamusic, founder of the iconic @Ektoplazm free music portal and label group (including Ektoplazm, Drumlore, and Omnitropic), lossless audio enthusiast, and dedicated archivist and electronic music curator. Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada, he is now based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Psytrance, techno, electro, house, trance, acid, breaks, bass, IDM, ambient—you name it, I probably spin it. My mixes fluidly combine different genres into harmonic journeys that defy convention.
