This Sub-Y-Dub-Y-Doo's guestmix is from FERENC SZANATI, and it was recorded at Tilos Radio's annual fundraising festival, the Tilos Maraton in 2023. Ferenc Szanati has been consciously collecting music since his childhood, and made his debut as a DJ in 2007. Over time, his musical taste has evolved, influenced by Progressive House and Deep House, leading him to Dub Techno, which is very close to him and he has been representing this style for a couple of years now. Besides music, sound quality is also important to him, so he prefers vinyl to always get the best possible sound on different systems. He is one of the founder host of the show Euphonic Moments running on Tilos Radio since 2015.

⇸ Our second year at Sisyphos was absolutely phenomenal. We took to The Tunnel floor then the Hammahalle main room for a total of 14 hours in August 2023. Axon, then Tom Baker & Jedidiah captained the Tunnel, then Vorpal and I led the Hammahalle for the closing session of the weekend. It's an incredible honour to play at this club, and especially to be granted a showcase for Stone Seed and SixthSense Australia.

I love curating my set specifically for the time and place, so this slot was perfect for me to delve into a generally heavier, filthier, and quicker side of my DJ explorations... of course, with a dose of soul.

DJ Basilisk delves deeper into psychedelic techno on SILICON OVERMIND 7, part of an ongoing series of mixes exploring the contours of the hypnotic and mechanistic underground from all directions. Clocking in at two and a half hours in length, this highly polished exercise in ritual machine music mainly draws from the hazy hinterlands of techno, with only around a dozen selections from the outer periphery of psychedelic trance culture. While the focus of this mix is mainly on the more minimalistic side of things, the last third of the mix is dreamy and transcendent, providing a sense of catharsis after the long journey through darkness.

Basilisk is a veteran multi-genre DJ, co-founder of the psychedelic techno label @Techgnosis-Records alongside @benramamusic, founder of the iconic @Ektoplazm free music portal and label group (including Ektoplazm, Drumlore, and Omnitropic), lossless audio enthusiast, and dedicated archivist and electronic music curator. Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada, he is now based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Psytrance, techno, electro, house, trance, acid, breaks, bass, IDM, ambient—you name it, I probably spin it. My mixes fluidly combine different genres into harmonic journeys that defy convention.
