Freak Of The Week afterparty @ Klüb Stööpid

My recent open to close set at City Club was the exact set that I've been dying to play since officially breaking onto the scene almost 2 years ago. A deep and winding journey through different genres and time periods, sounds that make up the DJ and artist that I am. Going into this one I turned to some of my favorite mixes from my formative years by the likes of Marco Shuttle, Evigt Morker, Justin Aulis Long, Carlos Souffront and the great Silent Servant. While the influences are there it still feels fully "me." Deep and hypnotic Techno, Industrial / EBM, Dub, Ambient and a massive helping of Acid House, amongst many other genre specifics, are all at play in this one. Is it my cleanest mix ever? Absolutely not, but it's real, it's raw and it's entirely in the moment, and those are my favorite kinds of mixes.

I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I do, whatever spot you click with most <3

We’ve got a very special one this week! We’re absolutely thrilled to present Vision 014 w/ APRS.

@apresberlin is a Berlin-based DJ and producer from France. As a co-founder of the techno-focused collective low-pass, he actively fosters the local rave scene while also championing both local emerging talents and internationally renowned DJs such as nthng or Eric Cloutier. This time, he embraces ambient and neo-classical sounds for his new podcast with Blurry Vision, where we can explore a more introspective and intimate side of him. 

When asked about how he came up with this beautiful podcast, APRS shares, “In my sets and productions, I often use cinematic elements. I like when beautiful sounds are distorted and damaged in a way that its character stands out. It feels real to me. I made this podcast with Ableton; I started layering sounds that inspired me, and from there, I let intuition guide my experimentation."

Christoph de Babalon is known for tripping beats, dark wide spaces and eternal melancholy. He released his first record in 1994 on Hamburg's cult-label Fischkopf. Right after his debut he began working with Alec Empire's Digital Hardcore Recordings where he, besides a couple of other records released his most important work: the legendary album 'If You're Into It, I'm Out Of It'. DHR still say that it remains their most important release. As a co-founder of the music label Cross Fade Enter Tainment he has been putting out records since 1994 by influential electronic hardcore producers such as Somatic Responses, DJ Scud, Kouhei, Cdatakill, Unit Moebius, Zbigniew Karkowski and Merzbow.
