DJ set from a campout in Northwest Minnesota this June. Battery died partway through, so this set was Re-recorded at home including that partial recording. From ~5:15a-6:45a and the sun was in full force by the end.

Two hours of shameless jams across the house and techno spectrum! Recorded during my birthday weekend…every year in July, I try to celebrate my birthday at a weekly outdoor Sunday party called “Communion”, which I helped conceive over 10 years ago in Minneapolis.  The party is still operating today as a refuge for sun-soaked beats that can be appreciated without pretension or judgment. 

This year, I played the last two hours to a full house. I decided to slowly build up the tension over the first hour before stepping on the gas during the second. Having friends and family around made for an unforgettable vibe!

While I’m known mostly for my techno output, anybody who has seen me play one of my numerous marathon sets over the years will recognize moments of the evening where things tend to get a bit more funky (usually drink #4). Here’s a snapshot of the other side of my sound.  For those who can’t stand house music…rest assured, Techno will always be my true calling.

Leif is a Minneapolis-based house DJ / resident at The Saloon and LUSH / sucker for ridiculous bass and a good vocal / fun-time guy. His energy behind the decks is enough to keep people in a frenzy for hours on end across dancefloors- all over the city.  Infectious selections, great mixing technique and a total personality- on top. Lef's been rinsing the sounds for years on end and puts out a stellar podcast.  We've been hoping to spend an evening with thiswon for quite some time now and we couldn't be more stoked to work it out in front of the stacks, as Leif steps to the HP decks for the first time. Really Ready!

HP is jacked to welcome Evian to the HP decks for the first time -to lace the place with some seriously-stellar tunes!  Evian stays collecting some of the best dance music around and has been rotating those new-gems and classix- on floors throughout the Nocoast, for years. No stranger to werking eclectic dancefloors- thiswon gets it, on all levels.  It will be a treat to spend an evening together in front of the turbo stacks while he werks the tunes, something proper. Whether you like to lose or find yourself in the moment on the dancefloor- Evian has the selections and style to definitely take you there.  Stoked!

JAMEEN

Jameen has been spinning vinyl for over 20 years. She is one of the co-founders of Ladies On Wax - the first female DJ crew in Minneapolis. Jameen started her raving career in NYC in the early 90's listening to the likes of Josh Wink at the notorious Limelight. Under the tutelage of house master E-Tones, Jameen started her distinct style of techno and house and everything in between. She has opened up for the likes of Alex Paterson of The Orb and Trip Hop group Smith and Mighty.  Jameen has been rocking those essential vibes throughout the city for years and we couldn't be more stoked to have her step to the HP decks for the very first time and share some of those super-tite selections with the MPLS House Heads.
