For this instalment we gathered at The Triffid and the brief was to begin the moment doors opened and warm up the space by toeing the line of a vibe that begs the question "Should we get a drink?" or "Should we have a dance?" then handover to the rest of the funky little relay team assembling for the eve. I count my blessings to have these opportunities to express myself and connect with others through a mutual love of the music that we can't help but move and groove to, the kind that makes us feel, helps us heal and above all else connect with ourselves via the rhythms and melodies that feel at home in our bodies for reasons far beyond our understanding.

A reunion that was long overdue took place July 21st, 2019 in Downtown LA at Moontribe Sunday Vibe. It was such a sweet event bringing together the DJs from the first wave of Moontribe events in the 90s and many old school friends and family! It was one for the record books for sure! 

My set was early on coming out of pure beat less ambient music and building up to a more tech/house tempo. My goal here was a welcoming set as people were just arriving and socially connecting. I started off very slow and tribal, with a little push on the tempo each track so it didn't take too long to get groovy, but also I never wanted the set to be too heated. It was a challenging set, but I feel very satisfied with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy it too!!!

Relatively new to sharing musical musings, Catnip has been a dance performer and artist for two decades. Fine tuning her selections of auditory medicine, on a trajectory to bring memories to the dance floor. Blessed to have opened for Imagika Om, Random Rab and David Starfire in Hawaii. As well she’s played on Abraxas at Burning Man and in the Compass at Lightning in a Bottle￼ festival.
