A rumble breaks out in a late '70s NYC Disco and spills into the streets but can the mob resist the beat?
It all started with the percussion intro to Cerrone's 1978 Disco jamster "Give Me Love" and then the beat took over, a Disco drummer caught up in the Break.
With a special appearance by the legendary Cru, and the intro to "Pronto", a B-side to the 1990s Hip-Hop fave "Just Another Case."

DJ CHiEF’s Instant Cipher is the first in a series of EPs showcasing CHiEF’s unreleased secret breaks alongside published tracks that you know and love. 

This first episode of DJ CHiEF’s Instant Cipher features tracks that emulate early Hip-Hop in production style, with raw, imprecise and sometimes off-beat rhythms composed of drum and instrument samples that will have you scratching your head to figure out where they came from. 

For “Love to the Breaks”, the classic loop from “Love to the World” by LTD* gets ripped to pieces and thrown down on the dance floor for whoever wants to pick it up, but be careful… it’s hot! 

“Sing Simple” is another example of a classic break, in this case “Sing a Simple Song” by King Herbert & the Knights, being stripped down to its components and reassembled for a nasty cipher session, and this one has never been heard yet by anyone except for DJ CHiEF and his cat!

It’s been a few years in the making but we finally have a sneak preview of what Australia’s Def Wish Cast has been working on over the hiatus. 

“Dun Proppa” is the lead track from their forthcoming album, Evolution Machine, which features production from Queensland’s Resin Dogs who team up with the UK’s own Brad Baloo (Nextmen). As if that wasn’t enough talent on the beats, the track is also overseen by the mighty Plutonic Lab (Muph n Plutonic), who lends some of his hit making abilities to the mix.

My most personal themed bboy project that tells the story of my entire bboy life up to that point. This was also the introduction of "THEM TEAM THEME" which is also the battle theme song for my bboy crew THEM TEAM, originally made for & first played when Cha Cha (THEM TEAM/AOM) battled Flexum (KnuckleHeads Cali) in an exhibition in Seattle, WA at The Vera Project.

Before my next mix of newer material I wanted to make the first in a series of Classics mixes. These are the breaks that I remember being played all the time in the early 2000's. Some of them are straight up bboy anthems. Leacy, Dadeo, Geometrix and local radio DJ's had a big impact on what I play in this mix. To me, these sounds were everywhere and I wanted to bring that vibe back for the newer generation who might not know these breaks as well. Thank you to everyone who's supported me and believed in me.
