Hailing from Houston Tx, BXXNG pronounced BEING is a group formed by 4 veterans of Houston’s underground Hiphop community. A generation that saw hip hop evolve from analog to digital and from vinyl to laptops.

The group consists of Mc’s Nosa and Brew with DJ Comp and production by Grinch.

BXXNG is grounded in hip hops roots while crafting a sound and style that’s something entirely new. They have been inspired by others such as Slum Village, Outkast, De La Soul and Little Brother.

Nosa’s sharp delivery and Brew’s smooth flow create a balance over the MPC layered beats of Grinch and cuts by DJ Comp 1, their first single SWISHERS dropped in the spring with 2 for .99 a two track pack following shortly after.

The groups live shows are high energy and engaging! Already sharing the stage with Bay Area legends Souls Of Mischief, Nas Illmatic producer Large Professor and Houston heavy weights Devin The Dude and Swisha Houses Michael 5000 Watts.

Gensu Dean has been called Hip Hop’s best kept secret. Currently based in Austin, Texas, Gensu maintains a Yin & Yang approach to music production. Combining both the analog and digital worlds, he is steadfast on the principle of Balance. Utilizing analog gear, a laptop for recording purposes only, and his vast sound source which is an extensive 7,000+ piece vinyl collection, Gensu Dean creates unique collages of beautiful yet hard hitting music. Living up to his name Gensu (i.e. the famous razor sharp steak knife of the 80’s spelled Ginsu)) he can be found scouring records stores, book stores, antique shops or wherever old vinyl can be found, or in his elusive lab with a razor sharp focus on creating his highly emotional, soulful sound, that stays laced with rugged and gritty drums.

When asked about his approach and production style, he explains, “My goal is to always create something honest and true to who and what I am. I want to touch peoples’ spirit and move them, to generate an emotion that will be life lasting with the listener.” With this mind Gensu Dean has produced incredible works with the likes of David Banner, Large Professor, Ol Dirty Bastard, Roc Marciano, Planet Asia, Diamond D, Denmark Vessey and many more.

Originally from Detroit, DJ Jaycee is a veteran party & radio rocking DJ who continues to make an imprint within the DJ community & music industry worldwide. Jaycee is from the breed of DJ's where collecting records was a passion & perfecting cuts, blends, and every kind of scratch is part of a daily routine. His extensive knowledge of all genres of music was established as a child and flourished as did his passion for deejaying. 

From winning battle competitions to creating a buzz throughout Athens (WUOG 90.5 "The Power of Soul") and Atlanta’s various college radio mixshows like (WRAS 88.5) "Tha Bomb" & "Rhythm & Vibes", they all played a crucial role in establishing Jaycee as a DJ that couldn't be ignored, which then led to him becoming a musical mainstay in the club scene by playing such legendary Atlanta venues as The Warehouse, Velvet, Kaya, Oxygen, Esso, Flava, The Chili Pepper, Vision and many many more. 

In 1995, So So Def’s DJ Nabs (tour DJ for Kris Kross, Da Brat, Xscape) featured Jaycee on his mixshow "The Thunderstorm" on V-103 & after bearing witness to his versatility and presence as a DJ during guest spots, V-103 PD Tony Brown immediately hired him and soon after he was spinning and hosting his own mix show, "The Late Nite Mixtape" where for years he effortlessly displayed turntable dexterity and broke tons of new music. 

After pretty much witnessing Jaycee display his musical knowledge and turntable dexterity all over the city, in 2000 Ludacris asked him to be his official tour DJ and he went on to tour the world relentlessly, sharing stages with Luda on huge tours like Eminem's Anger Management Tour, Outkast's Stanklove Tour, prestigious award shows such as the Grammys, American Music Awards, The VMA’s, The BET Awards, Top Of The Pops, as well as VH-1's Hip Hop Honors and more. He has also been on notable television shows ranging from TRL, Rap City, Saturday Night Live, 106 & Park, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Regis & Kelly, Tyra Banks, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Carson Daly and more. 

Due to extensive touring, Jaycee took a hiatus from the radio in 2001 but he returned to V-103 in September of 2008 doing "The Old School Lunch Mix" which has since smashed Atlanta radio ratings records, leaving competitors completely off the page. With the success of his radio mixes, Jaycee still manages to re-invent himself when playing the club circuit throughout the world. He is a DJ that is responsive to the crowd, but still manages to push musical boundaries. Jaycee has effortlessly proven that he can play every kind of genre from r&b to rock to top 40 to hip hop, funk, reggae & so much more.

Southern Vangard Radio is a weekly podcast that features the latest and greatest underground hip-hop and lively color commentary from Atlanta’s own DJ Jon Doe & rhyme connoisseur Eddie “Cappuccino” Meeks. In addition to dropping every Tuesday, Doe & Meeks don their journalism hats on Thursdays with the Southern Vangard Radio Interview Sessions, which serves as an outlet for artists featured on the mix show to tell their story.
