I was at a Michael McDonald/Boz Scaggs concert with my lady and she was laughing at me for knowing all the songs.  Well, the Michael McDonald ones at least.  She commented, "How do you know all this Yacht Rock?" and I reminded her that my mom is white.  We started joking around that I should make a mix of it, and eventually it became a dare and challenge.  I love Classic Rock, so I decided to go ahead and make this mix.  There are a lot of really terrible Yacht Rock songs out there, but I picked only my favorites for this mix.  These ones are a bit more funky and uptempo.  You may claim that not all these songs are Yacht Rock, but they are definitely Soft Rock tunes (aka Blue Eyed Soul) from the late 70's and early 80's. Let me first start by saying this  mix is all about fun. I love the 80s but my thing was always the Hip Hop, Soul and Funk with a bit of House/dance music. 
However, Every time i went to an 80s night where all the music were the pop classics i always enjoyed the night so i thought i'd finally go off script and put together my own mix.
It's easily the most expensive mix i've ever done as i had hardly any of the tracks included prior to doing this mix but as i only ever intend on doing this mix once i wanted to include as much content as possible.Although there's plenty of nostalgia in there it's mainly the most popular dance floor and sing a long tracks
I started DJ'ing back in the 80's at school discos. The boys would be lined up along the wall one side of the hall and the girls likewise the other side. My job was to get them to meet in the middle for a dance!
Like i say, This is a fun mix that i hope help any 80s themed nights go with a bang.
