I was at a Michael McDonald/Boz Scaggs concert with my lady and she was laughing at me for knowing all the songs.  Well, the Michael McDonald ones at least.  She commented, "How do you know all this Yacht Rock?" and I reminded her that my mom is white.  We started joking around that I should make a mix of it, and eventually it became a dare and challenge.  I love Classic Rock, so I decided to go ahead and make this mix.  There are a lot of really terrible Yacht Rock songs out there, but I picked only my favorites for this mix.  These ones are a bit more funky and uptempo.  You may claim that not all these songs are Yacht Rock, but they are definitely Soft Rock tunes (aka Blue Eyed Soul) from the late 70's and early 80's. Here we do again... Soundcloud took down my 90s mix.

So here is the original idea of the mix:
A few friends pushed me to follow up on the 80s mix I did a few years ago. But I decided to take a closer look at what happened in the 90s. 

Unfortunately a few songs I´ve used to do this mix are incredibly bad... :) 
I tried to spice it up with a few of my favorite movie quotes of epic flics and tv shows such as Seinfeld, American Pie, There´s something about Mary, The Simpsons, The big Lebowski or Pulp Fiction.

If you wanna know why The Verve made only 1000 bucks with their international smash hit "Bittersweet Symphony" and what the real message behind the Spice Girls hit "If you wanna be my lover" was  - you should join me on a journey through this decade.
