As Eternal Love, cheeky chappies Fede and Edo are injecting that bit of extra joy into their output that we're all in need of. 

The Milanese duo's digging endeavours aren't confined to one sound or style, you'll find them scouring dusty crates for everything from lovers rock and jazz to Italian dream house and rock music. If they had to put a label on what they play though, they'd term it as SOUL music in all its different shapes and forms.

They've been gathering a healthy following across Europe and beyond through their tasteful sets and lighthearted approach, this year they've hit the UK, Belgium, Spain and South America, to name a few, but up next you'll find them closer to home at Polifonic Festival. The Polifonic link extends to curation too, the guys are also involved with an upcoming VA release, put together with the help of Yu Su, Lipelis and Benedek... Keep your eyes peeled for that. 

On the topic of releases, while Fede and Edo may have spent a lot of time digging and selecting, more recently they've been putting time into production. This August will see the release of their debut EP via firm favourites Planet Trip - trust us this one is a perfect soundtrack for summer.

Now, the pair tell us they tend to opt for the more "home listening" side of their collections when it comes to mixes and radio shows, but on this occasion they're going against the grain with a mix of the kind pop sounds you can expect to hear them playing this summer.

Made up of Balearic, disco, house and all that good stuff to make you move, their 'Shine A Light On' mix is soulful, sun-soaked and best accompanied, as the boys tell us, with a nice glass of cold white wine. Crack open a nice bottle and get stuck in...

A very special podcast for us from the one and only Simon DK (DiY).

Recorded Live @ Earth in 1995 this podcast is still sounding fresh today capturing DiY perfectly. DiY soundsystem are one of our biggest influences and their parties are a pinnacle part of clubbing history.

The DiY Sound System was one of Britain's first house sound systems. The group "divided their activities between free parties and legal club nights, acting as a bridge between counter-culture and the mainstream".

It was created in Nottingham in 1989 as a reaction against the growing number of rave promoters whose bias was towards their own financial enrichment, rather than the joy of their party-goers. They wished to form a cohesive, collective, political front against the prevailing anti-rave legislation that was beginning to come into force at that time. This became more marked around the time of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, with DiY playing a key role in the largest illegal rave ever put on at Castlemorton Common Festival prior to the Bill and a constant stream of illegal, outdoor parties (often at travellers' sites, quarries and disused airfields) all over the country. Simon Reynolds writes that DiY threw "free parties at abandoned airfields or on hilltops, drawing a mixed crowd of urban ravers and crusty road warriors".[2]

DiY also worked successfully in the realm of legitimate club nights, with their "Bounce" night touring the country as well as being a staple of Nottingham's night life. Its popularity, connected to its lack of concern for dress codes and its non-exploitation of its loyal clubbers, coupled with its very particular form of deep, soulful, often minimal house music, led to it being recognised as one of the top ten club nights in Britain by The Times.

In 1993, they also began their own record label, Strictly 4 Groovers, which later became known as DiY discs. They released house music on vinyl until 2006, which included releases by local talents Atjazz, Rhythm Plate and Charles Webster. The collectives primary DJ's - Simon DK, Digs and Woosh - still play at various nights in the U.K., Europe and United States.

DiY still occasionally hold free parties, typically to celebrate a milestone date - on 19 September 2009, DiY celebrated their 20th birthday with a free party in near their home town of Nottingham.,[3] while on 23 August 2014, they their 25th (Silver) birthday with a free party held in a field in Leicestershire.

Sharing with the audience what I think are the greatest records of the moment or what I think are timeless and personal classics is something that has motivated me through the years. I see my job as being a big filter: As a vinyl junkie, I am in the record stores chasing jams almost everyday. And I am also following movements in what I hear such as when techno was revolutionary or when the NY deep house sound really expanded, that’s what I would showcase. Now that a lot of techno and house roots are being revived and also reinvented, I can as always, enjoy playing a lot of new amazing records and some classics!

Twenty years in, from house to techno and everything in between, DJ Deep has immersed himself in the ebb and flows of music, be it NY, Chicago, Detroit or today’s current pulsating waves. He captures the magic of each as a leading figure of the Parisian scene and label owner, connecting the dots both forward and back with his own personal and multidimensional touch.

DJ Deep first got his break when he was invited by Laurent Garnier to DJ at parties such as Oz and Zoo at club Palace, or Boy, in his hometown Paris. Followed by regular appearances at the influential Rex Club, radio shows ‘A Deep Groove’ on then pirate station Radio FG, and later Radio Nova, plus a string of mix CDs on Distance and Respect is Burning, DJ Deep began touring worldwide, spreading his house and techno obsession to audiences craving his deep crates of musical truth.

In 2003, DJ Deep launched his labels Deeply Rooted (formerly Deeply Rooted House) and House Music Records, shining a spotlight on true-to-its roots house and techno records and harder to find gems from the likes of Kerri Chandler, L.B. Bad, Terence Fixmer, Mike Dehnert and Roman Poncet. The dream catalogue sealed his music curatorship with timeless records such as Kerri Chandler’s now classic “Back to the Raw”, Ben Klock’s remix of “Pong” by Kerri Chandler and Francois X’s “Code Red” remixed by Marcel Dettmann.

A reformat in 2015 and DJ Deep’s latest evolution in expression sees him join forces with Roman Poncet as Sergie Rezza, an open-minded experimentation with a standout album on Desire Records and performances including Berlin Atonal. Their straight-up techno live project, Adventice, saw a trio of releases on the reputable Tresor with performances at Weather Festival (Paris), Reperkusound Festival (Lyon) and many more to come. Fang is the duo’s house-leaning alias, which marked Deeply Rooted’s momentous 50th release in 2015. Unabatedly, DJ Deep’s solo adventure also continues with his own deep “cuts” out on his label or under his Rébeval raw house alias, on the cult NYC L.I.E.S Records.
