Jeff had already included that trippy repeating synthy thing going on throughout the background. I added the melodic thread that evolves throughout, the chords that chime in here and there, and the experimental sound collage at the end. I've had this one ready to go for a bit, and figured it would be fun to release this week, along with our new Smoking Trout song, Assimilation, as kind of like a fun little B-side to that track. When Richard first sent me Know Me Better, I could immediately tell this song had something special. The melody was catchy yet emotional, and the lyrics carried a message that resonated deeply. It was clear that a lot of thought and heart had gone into crafting it.

By the time I got involved, the track was already beautifully written and produced, with Jaime Deraz’s incredible vocals bringing it to life. My role was to refine and elevate it through mixing and mastering, making sure every element found its perfect place. The goal was to preserve the song’s emotional core while giving it the polished, professional sound it deserved.

It’s always an honor to work on music that feels authentic, and this project was no exception. Huge shoutout to Richard for creating such a meaningful song and to Jaime for delivering such a stunning vocal performance. Know Me Better is a song that truly speaks, and I’m grateful to have played a part in its journey.
