Well well well people. This set was an absolute LEGEND in my books so far. So many hands supporting my mixing & improvisation. Huge gratitude to the artists for their offerings to sample from.

This set combines both my set & fellow accomplished DJ LadyBoss. Audacity is giving me a hard time with splicing the track & adjusting some clip levels, so I'm posting the original audio which has more of the oomph. I may update this in time.

Woodstove Music & Arts Festival: THEE After Party. Period.

Never Stop Dancing is a mix series dedicated to all those who find themselves locked in the groove, time and time again. To those who find themselves eyes closed, lost in the music. To those who say "one more song" more than once. To those who live for the collective joy, community, and boundless self-expression of the dance floor. To those who never stop dancing. This mix series is focused on amplifying the sounds of DJs and producers in the Kootenays and British Columbia who honour the rich tradition of house, disco, and techno in their sets.

Never Stop Dancing 12 is a playful mix by none other than Kootenay veteran, mother, and all around wonderful human, Lady V. Lady V has been a staple of the Kootenay underground scene for many years. Her signature chugging yet driving sound consistently captivates dancers, locking them in a deep, bouncy, hypnotic groove for hours on end. Many moons ago, I stumbled across Lady V playing a set at my favourite stage in the Kootenays, and thought to myself, “this is it – this is the place.” Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Lady V, and have grown an appreciation for her humility, kindness, and passion for her tasteful, slow-house sonic journeys. Her selections always transport me back to the blissed out mornings at the open airs in Köln. Her Never Stop Dancing mix is a seamless, groove-laden journey that’ll have you wanting more. Enjoy!

DJing is one of those things in my life where I find myself comparing myself to others, and often feeling like I fall short. It’s easy to get lost in comparisons and caught up in opinions. Then bom bom (bom bom dillim)… a series of beautiful people remind me that my light shines bright, and they celebrate when it burns instead of trying to extinguish it. Thank you so much for everyone that has supported and believed in me, you have no idea what a difference you make. Thank you for showing up, dancing, expressing gratitude, providing connections, and being present. Thank you to everyone who put my name out there this year and all of the beautiful folks that booked me for their events.  I love you! 

And an honourable shoutout and thank doodle for friends and muses like my dear Johnny Irwin (Civilian) who throughout my career and our friendship has constantly reminded me of my worth and that there is inherent value in being a SELEKTAH! Johnny, you are honestly so important to so many people and we are all so lucky to know you my dude! MY DUDE! Thanks to Kato (my roots) for your guidance and support when I was a fledgling, thanks to Nolan for the hours we’ve spent together digging for and playing tunes, and having the best times (and the most stressful times) throwing events and parties, thanks to Huw for always having my back and letting me make noise any time of day in his living room, and feeding me, and giving me hugs. This live* mix represents a treasure of old-to-nu-skool trans-Arabic motifs dropped in my set at Giza, Egypt, during the auspicious winter solstice gathering of 2012. 

It was recorded during the The Great Convergence, an amazing gathering held at the pyramids of Giza. The event was conceived by Tamer El-Shakhs and  produced by the excellent production team at The Do Lab, (thank you all!!)

RE-EDITED AND REMIXED FOR 2021: A very loose mix of Celtic and Scottish tunes remixed taken from my whiskey-spiked set (for the win: Tullamore Dew; 10-Year-Old Reserve) with Delhi to Dublin on St Patrick's Day - cheeky pipes and fiddles...kinda like an "Irish Spring" soap commercial meets house LOL!  What the hell... Don't take it too seriously, and chase it down with jeroboam of Guinness!
