Ethan - Live At FnF Spinning Wheel

Well... I must admit, I am overflowing with gratitude and still in the afterglow of one of the best full moon celebrations in a long a while for me!

 This is a 2 hour dj set. The weather was perfect going from a warm afternoon into sunset, and night. The forest meadow was alive with dancers of spirit and fire. Drums beating, feet stomping, howls of all kinds echoing!
The moon showed its bright eye and from where I was standing inside the dj booth, it was truly spectacular to see. 
There is no other feeling like that and I hope to feel it again soon. 
I, as I have been so many times before, am left fully in awe.  Moontribe is just incredible and has again charged my soul. My friends, my family, this beautiful planet, our sacred Moon...the MUSIC!

So much love and gratitude for this community.

Do not know where I'd be if I didn't find this tribe 22 years ago.

"This mix is a midtempo/funky house journey through some of my favorite genres- soul, hip-hop, gospel, bluegrass, Dolly (yeah, Dolly probably counts as her own genre). It makes me and mine move our happy asses and I hope it does the same for you and yours. Shout out to my crews Brass Tax and Angels of bAss- proud to still be going strong after all these years with y'all. And to HazMatt and my little man QDubs- my biggest cheerleaders and harshest critics who egg me on with DJ treats (french fries and booty shakes) but also never hesitate to tell me when something sounds "yucky." 10 years of frolic campout! Such a momentous occasion required a set to match. Saturday night (technically sun am) 12:15-1:30am @ Saratoga Springs Aug 2-4. Blasting off on the insane waveworks sound system meant the basslines had to hit hard, the culmination of ten years of putting on a bespoke event with the best vibe required the right sounds. Hope you enjoy the set, mostly tech-house with some fun bouncier house thrown in.

Colorful founder of the much-loved Bay Area dance collective, Friends and Family, Ethan has been making dance floors sweat since 1993. Known early in his career for hard Acid and Techno sets, the years since have revealed a taste for Breaks, House, Tech House, Deep House, and of course Techno of all flavors. 

While currently turning up at DISTRIKT, BrassTax, Space Cowboys, Strategik, MotorCityJam, Prohibition, Opel, and other Bay Area underground events, Ethan has also held residencies at MAD Mondays, RhythmMethod, Delve, and of course Friends and Family. Reaching way back you would have found him holding it down at some of SF's now legendary raves including The Gathering, Vision, Basics and more.
