For this special 20th edition of Full Range Motion on Operator, I've invited one of Amsterdam's most exciting techno talents: DJ, producer, sound tech, and official future student of electronic music at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music @Varunae . We talk some of her influences, approach to DJing, social media struggles, as well as topics such a track selection, folders, and 'crunchy' techno. We do a short interview at the start after which Varuna plays for 40/45 minutes. After that we do another short talk, finishing the show with bouncing our latest favourite tracks to each other. Her entry into the field occurred with live performances of ambient music. Her love for crafting stories led her to take on a journey into dance floor-oriented music. Over the past years Is has shaped and developed her sound full of sharp and subtle, airy yet deep and hypnotic textures, deeply rooted and inspired by the elements of nature and life.

DJ & producer @nymed is a prominent figure in the Parisian Techno scene, known for his exponential growth and unique sound. Originating from the seaside town of Dunkirk in Northern France, his early exposure to electronic music was heavily influenced by the vibrant Belgian and Dutch club scenes. Nymed initiated "Conceptual Violence," a series of parties held in bunkers along the Flemish Coast, repurposing historical sites into venues for celebration and unity.

Before the pandemic in 2020, Nymed moved to Paris, where he further developed his music production and DJing skills, quickly becoming a key player in the scene. In 2021, he launched "Toyz," a new event concept aimed at creating safe, inclusive party spaces for the sexually liberated queer community. 

After a well received first EP on New York’s P.Leone E-Missions recordings label, Nymed came back this year with several releases on Philoxenia, Pornceptual and …Is Serving in 2024.

Nymed's musical style is a tribute to 90's techno, distinguished by a straightforward approach to mixing that differentiates him from his contemporaries. His work is celebrated for its hypnotic, sensual qualities, incorporating trippy melodies and sexually charged rhythms.
