Welcome to the Word Is Love Show and on the show it's a celebration of the Godfather of Dance music itself David Mancuso.

David invented the first "by invitation only" parties in New York City with the very first party "Love Saves The Day" in 1970 that went on to become The Loft. 

The show is the first part of 2 shows that celebrates the 50th anniversary of "Love Saves The Day".

Being thrown down is classic Disco, Funk, Rare Groove, Latin and Soul, plus a selection of Worldwide delights that David used to play.

Expect classic tracks by Earth Wind & Fire, Mr. Fingers, James Brown, Central Line and Eddy Grant. 

The mix was performed 'Shooting from The Hip', a style of cut mixing and blend mixing to give it that extra authenticity.

Many DJs in the industry especially younger ones have a superstar attitude, like gods of the turntables, turning each set into a show-off fest of self-importance. Nowadays it’s more about noises from a synthesiser or laptop than actual music. Wherever you go, everyone seems to be pumping out the same kind of computer-generated offering.

A good disc jockey knows his music inside out and isn’t afraid of musical instruments because that’s where real music comes from. He is comfortable with his musical heritage and not afraid to re-invent and rekindle.

I’m Mattew, an upcoming set artist based in Hayes, Middlesex with a love of old-skool vinyl classics. Nevertheless I have taken on the technology of the 21st century so I can bring my creations to your ears and hearts (even if I had to go through two laptops in the process).
