The sixth installment of trumpeter/arranger/producer/bandleader Todd Simon’s #JazzOn45 series focuses on some classics found within the genre. For the return of Wax Poetics, Todd has put together some of the more well-known gems found on 7-inch vinyl. Thanks to artists such as Kamasi Washington and Sons of Kemet, we have seen a newly found resurgence of this incredibly expressive and beautiful art form worldwide. Whether you are fairly new to digging into Jazz, or well-versed in it, you will enjoy listening to these selections at 45 rpm. Note that certain selections from this include both sides edited together.

This episode I invited my record-digging partner in crime, DO77 aka Verbal Math of Dollabin, to spin some of his favorites. It's a great fusion-filled set filled with all kinds of treats! In DO77's own words: "I love jazz fusion so I know it can go off the rails real quick. Don’t worry, I just threw together some chill fusion grooves by some of the usual suspects, a couple of lesser known gems, and Frank Zappa who is a genre by himself. I also dropped in one of jazz’s most important current voices, Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah. Thanks to Ian Head for the invite! Hope you all enjoy."
