Casino Times debut on Futureboogie after a handful of stellar releases, most notably for London based Needwant Recordings, and Wolf Music. The duo of Nicolas Church and Joseph Spencer show us just why they’re steadily building a reputation for themselves with this four tracker.

Opening up with ‘Used To Be’, the smooth production and absorbing electronics deliver a classy, late night floor filler. With all the depth of, say, a classic Carl Craig joint, and deft melodic touches rippling through its duration, it’s a sound that’s prevelant throughout the rest of the EP. The jazzy overtones on ‘Turn A Blind Eye’ reveal a real musicality and sophistication, normally reserved for stallwarts of the scene like Larry Heard, yet Casino Times produce house music with plenty of head space and dubbed out moments.

Tempos are ramped up on ‘Weathered Walls’, as is the distortion, as rolling snares and urgent piano stabs pair against a raw and minimal beat, the enveloping pads bringing warmth if abundance to this warehouse gem. Wrapping up this very impressive EP is ‘Still’, a masterful arrangement of woody percussion, wandering keys and dubby FX, coming over like a long lost Nu Groove record for the next generation.

On the strength of ‘Lower Level Sounds’, we expect to hear a lot more from Casino Times over the coming year.

Youssoufor & Mowley - ORL

As a songwriter and vocalist, Paa Kofi’s passion lies in telling stories. Born in Ghana and raised in Amsterdam, Paa Kofi has primarily worked behind the scenes writing songs for artists including Sabrina Stark and Sarah Jane.

He discovered his voice when he joined a friend to a studio session and the producer asked him to try his luck in the vocal booth. Since then he has released his first single ‘Once Upon Time' and performed on stage at major venues including Paradiso and Carré.

Paa Kofi takes inspiration from soul, jazz, blues, reggae and poetry, and effortlessly creates a warm and unique sound where his roots take shape.

‘Hearts Desire' is the second single off a new project on INI Movement. The song was produced and co-written by Lucas van Ee aka Rebiere.
