This was during the time when I was trying to make remixes instead of just finding & throwing acappellas over beats I made that night.  I never cared for the original beat to this song, it felt too commercial, so I felt like it was time to challenge myself with this joint.  I don't remember all what I sampled but I do know I sampled the actual bassnote of the song, sampled 1 or 2 different Crusaders songs, and the drums from a drum loops record.  I liked it so much that I ended up putting the instrumental on my beat tape "Basement Beatz From Da East" ( https://djjoeyjoe.bandcamp.com/track/reminding-me-of-self-1st-mix-again ) later on.  I then made a second version of this beat with slowed down samples for a different vibe, I might post that one sometime soon.

I started out as a rapper after a while I was making pause mixtapes & beats to listen/rhyme to then later on I got into spinning, scratching, mixing.
