After relocating to New York, Joseph Richard spent the better part of a decade immersed in the cities rich record culture. Initially inspired by what other collectors were seeking out or playing at the time, he soon became completely consumed in the search to uncovering records that were still well off most peoples radar. Wanting an opportunity to share his finds with other enthusiasts, Joe started Good Sound record shop, a finely curated online store where you can find an abundance of goodies of which many will be unknown to your ears. This free flowing hour is a showcase of Joe’s new found interests in AOR, Folk and Soft Rock that have arisen since a recent move back to California. Let this one ease you into the warmer weather.

Originally recorded for a 60 minute cassette mix tape titled "Firefly Canyon", here is Side A "Day Dreaming", a hazy tribute to memories past, road tripping through the countryside with friends and discovering a canyon in the woods filled with endless fireflies glowing in the warm summer night sky. This goes out to my old school KSA and Funk Fiends crew, the people I was closest with during the '90s and whose memories of that canyon inspired this mixtape. Firefly Canyon (Side A: Day Dreaming)

When it comes to the physical world, sound is basically understood as a phenomenon of motion, first and foremost, as it concerns the movement of waves through the air and across bodies. However, when it comes to our humanly presence, they can also move us by other means that lie beyond the physicality perceived by our senses and that's how music can create emotional responses, entice physiological reactions strongly personal in interpretation, as well as convey commonly shared meanings. Such is the fertile hinterland of possibilities where our series managed to thrive so far, mainly through the inventiveness of its diverse guests, who bring their backgrounds and visions into the mix in each of their mixes, showing us fantastic new realms of motion and emotion. This episode is no exception, with a young carioca adding his own exquisite flavours and bold taste to our already hefty repertoire of aural adventures. Vitor Zasou's vibrant set is most certainly set to take anyone on a journey through sonic sensibilities deeply rooted in balearic realities and clearly indebted to nineties sonorities, but that are absolutely original in the way they put us in motion, both within and without our bodily existence.
