Prolific Japanese producer T5UMUT5UMU has built up a reputation in the last few years for his ability not just to recreate club styles but to flip them into almost unrecognizable dancefloor hybrids. "Sea of Trees" follows a blistering run of Bandcamp releases where T5UMUT5UMU has melted together gqom and techno, deconstructed grime and welded dubstep to traditional music from Japan and India. Here, he's operating completely off the grid, pulling raw materials from across the globe and hammering them into confounding shapes and patterns.

On its surface, 'Fireball' sounds like a liquid metal approximation of South African gqom, but move in closer and you can make out dubstep bass squelches, trap hats, and industrial techno jet propulsion filling in the gaps with rubberized mortar. 'Desert' is the EP's most lightheaded cut, a psychedelic percussive spiral that curves micro-tuned mbira clangs around bee sting bass, aerated noise blasts and sub-aqueous kicks. It's a hard track to place, but fits in somewhere between Donato Dozzy, Menzi and 33EMYBW, all shifting rhythms and precision-edited sound design.

'Sea of Trees' retains this momentum, pushing the tempo and interspersing woodblock vibrations with syncopated bass drums and goosebump-inducing synths, while closer 'Bottomless Valley' shifts back into a gqom framework, shuffling the expected pulse with a powerful dembow swing, half step subs and Indian-inspired rattles. "Asyl" is a varied but shockingly coherent statement from an enigmatic producer who refuses to confine himself to a single path, and at a time when "cross-genre" is the norm rather than the exception, it's refreshing to witness a producer who's unafraid to truly make stylistic left-turns, rather than simply mash together top-level aesthetics.

Australian label Different Intel inaugurates with its first release from Bristol producer LO CHI on the relentless shapeshifting 'Half Cut' EP. 4 tracks of ebbing and flowing electro, deep hot house, and bass chugs, its a release that's difficult to categorise but easy to f*ck with.

Our featured premiere, 'Throwing Elbows', does just that with its alluring ticking hats and robust kicks that build towards a solemn electro-fied breakdown of glitch techno, rotating in a solidified 4x4 field.

We are very excited to welcome DJ QGB to the All Centre fold for ACEN057. After releasing two exceptional LPs in 2018 and 2022, he steps out from his own label Present Tense for the first time to explore a club-ready approach to his singularly intricate sound. Across the four tracks, he strips his work down to basics and chases “expensive sounds”.

Kicking things off in a wonky half-time groove, Animus Type Beat guides the listener through a heady, dubbed-out soundscape with forceful, stuttering kicks. Mechanical vocal chops and dub sirens give way to a tense, urgent melody which sounds and then submerges back into the track’s compelling percussive explorations. 

The Truth, featuring Freesound uploader Roses1401, takes on classic UKG ideas and transposes them firmly into the future with intricate, optimising sound design. Heavily swung drums hold down a hypnotic groove while subsonic basslines dive below. Meanwhile, haunting vocal samples and powerful string swells add a dramatic edge to the track.

Powpowpoww lives up to its name with a rushing, high-energy groove punctuated by synth swoops and oddball percussive sounds. An understated bassline makes its way to the fore with the addition of a glitched-out M1 organ patch, which plays out a haunting harmony to the addictive sub pattern.

QGB closes the EP with Halloween Track, a tense, kickless excursion. A stuttering, percussive melody lays the groundwork for the track, whilst manic samples and percussion build the tension to increasingly strained levels. The arrangement gives way to a heavy reese-bass breakdown before simmering out with repeated vocal chops.

A club-ready album, ‘Fiori Notturni’ that slashes a nocturnal forest landscape with fluorescents and violent bursts of color across 8 moving tracks, including a stellar remix effort from Ancestral Vision on ‘0400’ and a collaboration with B E N N on ‘Lunar Eclipse’.

Our featured premiere is title track ‘Fiori Notturni’. A swooning drum track forging metallic percussion with ridging kicks, crafting a rigid balance between groove and pow.

Three years have passed since SVNDS debuted with the phenomenal "Cybersymbiosis” track for Furatena´s first publication ever. We are excited to present the comeback of our preferred duo with a series of “A/B" releases.

Cosmic, analogue, orchestrated, they still represent some of the most emotionally intense music ever to come out of the Latin–American IDM realm. Whether built on percussive frameworks or sweeping nebulas of dissipated sound, "Impermanence / Ceaseless" sing nostalgic tales compellingly and beautifully.

Despite the pulsant melancholic depth, Cortés and Florez are shrouded in a shadowy aura and a mystical mood that runs like a common thread through these tracks.
