DJ, producer and music lover Tahira is one of Brazil’s hardest working and highly esteemed DJs and music collectors. Whereas most diggers of Brazilian music tend to gravitate towards regional takes on American funk, disco & soul Tahira squares in on the country's rich musical lineage as part of thegreaterAfrican diaspora, with a pronounced emphasis on African rhythms.

Tahira connects the dots between the country's rich musical history, carving out analternate trajectory for black Brazilian culture that valuesAfro-futurism over copycatfunk/soul aesthetics.

He already performed his DJ sets in several important spots respect all over the world as

Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, Boiler Room, Love Supreme, Phusion, Lot Radio,Worlwide FM and others

His productions are hugely influenced by Brazil, Africa and Latin sounds. And its have been released by several labels as Concord Jazz (Los Angeles), Musica Macondo (London), Bastard Jazz (New York), Wonderwheel (NewYork), Wah Wah 45s(London), Names You Can Trust (NewYork), Far Out (London), Tiff ́s Joint (London), Hot Casa (Paris) and Mucho Ahora Recs (Auckland)

As a music researcher he has two compilation very well received by musical critics and public. “Levanta Poeira” (2018) was chosen as one of the best reissues according NPR website.

Louisiana native Jade de Lafleur's passion for music and acting started at 5 years old. It was then that her mother, a soloist with the local church choir, introduced Jade to performing through the music of Whitney Houston. Eventually, Jade would join the youth choir herself, where she also became a soloist. Jade received her first big break when she signed to J Records (Clive Davis) and UnderDog Entertainment (Harvey Mason Jr. & Damon Thomas) as a member of the girl group Sophia Fresh. While beginning her professional recording career, she also studied theatre at Prairie View A&M University, graduating with a B.A. in Mass Communications. She then toured internationally as a Background Singer/Dancer for Solange Knowles. Her first release was a critically acclaimed EP entitled Jaded. It featured "Smoking In My Car," co-written with master songwriter James Fauntleroy while the title track was featured on Solange's Saint Heron compilation album; garnering praise from various notable media outlets. The original "Miss Mississippi" in the play P Valley, and most recently Co Starring in Marvel's Luke Cage, Jade is a triple threat Virtuoso on a fantastic Voyage.

DJ Manchild Biography

DJ Manchild has been playing his funk, soul, latin, african, hip-hop, disco and beats to the dancefloors of Melbourne and beyond since early 2001.  He has DJ'ed and dug for records in places as far flung as Mumbai, Lagos and Tokyo, bringing back booty for his PBS radio show The Breakdown which has been running for 6 years on Friday afternoons.  

In New York he and two friends were inspired to start an large afro-beat ensemble, The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, which has since played Big Day Out,  WOMAD and Falls as well as sold-out shows across Australia.  Their debut album 'Do Anything, Go Anywhere' (which they recorded, produced, mixed and independently released) was nominated for an ARIA in 2010.

He has supported the likes of Marva Whitney, Quantic, Nas, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings, Eddie Bo, The Bamboos, Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J, Pharoah Monch, Roy Ayers, Prince Paul, Mos Def, Norman Jay MBE, Eddie Floyd, DJ Rob Swift, Ghostface Killah, The Jungle Brothers, MF Doom, Kurtis Blow, Talib Kweli, Jean Grae, Dead Prez, The Black Keys, DJ Roc Raida, Betty Harris, DJ Z-Trip, Aloe Blacc, Loop Troop, DJ Dexter, Cookin' On Three Burners, Ohmega Watts, Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop.

He has also played onstage with The Beatnuts, Jeru Tha Damaja, Nfa, DJ Z-Trip, Aloe Blacc and Kurtis Blow.

Although the band name Marsupials suggests that its members met in the Australian wilderness, it’s actually the moniker of two like-minded deep house addicts who linked up behind the decks at a club in Naples. The project started last year and within a few short months it had landed releases on  key labels like @madhouse-records, @toytonics, @large-music, @SccucciManucci, Diggin' Disco Deep, Editor's Kutz, @black-key-records, @exotic-refreshment, @colourinmusic and more..

From rural Victoria to the world, CC:DISCO! has built her life around one guiding principle: music first! CC’s career has given her the perfect creative outlets to express her first love – be it DJing around the globe, holding down a regular radio show, or curating her acclaimed First Light compilations.

On her road from radio host to warm-up DJ to headliner, CC has never once compromised on her sound. Slow, pumping, romantic, playful, uplifting – these are the feels that people around the world have experienced listening to CC in action. Ultimately it’s about connecting with other music lovers on a physical and emotional level: less chin-stroking, more dancing!

You could be chilling in a listening bar in her adopted home town of Lisbon, getting freaky in the late hours at Sub Club, DJOON or Good Room, or losing your mind during a headline slot at major festivals like Kala, Pitch Music & Arts, Love International, Glastonbury or Sonar by Night – even on the biggest stages, it always feels like CC is playing just for you. She transmits this feeling regularly over the airwaves as well, appearing on Rinse FM, NTS, BBC6, RA and Dublab, and making multiple appearances for Boiler Room.

CC keeps loyal connections with the Australian scene and the musicians she meets on her international travels, channelling these into her First Light compilations. Now two volumes deep, the series has already given a platform to diverse artists from across Australia, Japan, Zambia, Indonesia, Canada and Sweden.

Perhaps that’s the real fundamental of CC’s path as an artist – the space she creates for others. It’s reflected in the reminder she often gives after a gig: that the DJ just plays the music, and is no more or less important than the security guard, the bartender or the cleaner. It’s a humility that translates on a global scale – and you’re included too.

In July 2023, CC:DISCO! released her debut EP on Erol Alkan’s independent imprint Phantasy Sound. Both ‘Chez Moi’ (featuring Confidence Man) and ‘Out Of Your Mind’ were instant hits, garnering impressive international streaming figures and receiving widespread DJ and radio support. The EP was played in festival sets by Shanti Celeste, Job Jobse, Palms Trax, Bradley Zero and others. Heard on Beats In Space (US), Triple J(Australia) and the BBC (UK) in shows from Sally C, Moxie and Sarah Storey, the EP was a summer hit in Europe and has also taken CC on a sold-out tour of her beloved Australia.
