Beatgeeks is a producer night in Berlin, Germany created and curated by producers Suff Daddy, Hazeem and Party promoter & vinyl selecta LeBob. From Jazz to Glitch, Bleep to Hip Hop, all genres and varieties of high quality instrumental music captivate the listeners each and every time. Numerous producers come threw and display their sets and create a very unique and authentic vibe since 2011 every 1st & 3rd tuesday of the month. 

Berlin based label Jakarta Records in collaboration with BeatEvolution Rec. now releases several small 7inch editions. Starting of with “Beatgeeks - to go” a rare and dope beat-collection of producers that have been part of this event thus far. Each episode will be pressed as a limited edition of 200 7" vinyl with unique, customized cover. 

In Episode I and II well-known producers and regular guests to the event Dexter, Suff Daddy, KutMasta Kurt and Figub Brazlevic do the honors of exposing their latest sounds. Episodes III & IV will take a slightly different approach to beats that are electronical but not yet techno. Watch beats, not TV!

This mix tape was recorded in 2007, and is one of my personal favorites. Thank you for keeping this mix alive for all these years.

I've never listened to as much music on my headphones as I have the last two and half years since my daughter was born.  In fact, I've become quite the headphone connoisseur, purchasing five different pairs of headphones in the last year.  I've got monitoring headphones, deejaying headphones, walking around the house headphones; I even have a pair of headphones that fit me just right for when I'm laying on the couch just listening to music.  That's pretty much what I do.  When done doing honey-do's and daddy-do's, I put on my headphones, listen to music, and search for inspiration for my next mix.  The problem I had for months was the actual "mixing" part of the equation.  I kept wasting my precious free time napping instead of mixing.  Enter: coffee.  The key ingredient to the equation is coffee because those wonderful brown beans have kept me awake and mixing.  The Beats serve as the inspiration.  The Headphones allow for hearing the inspiration while Lil Mixes sleeps.  And the Coffee keeps me awake enough to create.

Dougie F & DJ Fire, both Orange, New Jersey natives, have individually been at the center of emerging Jersey Club for the last few years and are ready to put their scene on the map with "Back Up On It (Jasmine)". No, this isn't the latest Chris Brown or Beyonce song chopped and delayed, this is the real deal, a bonafide original Jersey Club anthem for an entire genre to rally behind.  "Back Up On It (Jasmine)" is already taking on a life of its own with Hot 97 play and kids creating viral dance clips across social media. Reminiscent of previous club records gaining crossover success, like DJ Class and Kanye West's "I'm The Shit", DJ Fire's booming production provides the perfect bounce for Dougie F's melodic rhyming to bridge the gap between hip-hop and dance music.
