This was a very special set for me. the I Feel events were my first introduction to the scene in NYC back in 2015, and were a big part of me finding my Brooklyn Music family that has grown and expanded so much over the years

For this set, I wanted to try something a little out of the ordinary. While I am not a religious person, I am Jewish by heritage. It isn't a big part of my self identity, but it is also a fact. These last many months have seen division and prejudice and hate rearing their head surrounding the identity of the Jewish people, and this has catalyzed me into thinking more about my heritage and what it means to me. 

Entirely independent of the attacks and the war, starting about 2 years ago, I started digging through Tel Aviv based producers and artists work and instantly felt a strong connection. In my opinion, the music that is coming out of Tel Aviv and these talented producers is the best in the world, and they are pushing and influencing electronic and house music in a way that I love and I think we all, as music lovers, are benefitting from

In prepping for this set, I created a playlist to which I added only tracks that were connected to Israel in some way - the label, a producer, a remixer or editor, every track was touched in some way by an artist in or from Israel who is sharing their love with the world. It was easy to make a big playlist, there's SO MUCH amazing music that fits that filter. I only got to play about 20% of the tracks I selected for the night. Many of the tracks have been produced since the start of this current war. I'm so inspired by all these artists who continue to pour themselves into creating joy and love and connection despite the tragic war raging over their heads. 

This set is a small nod of appreciation and acknowledgement of the positivity that they are creating. It starts out a bit deep and dark, then gets very dancy and drifts towards some wonderful weird levity, and ends with notes of togetherness and remembrance

Also big thanks to everyone who jammed with me on the dance floor live into the wee hours of the mourning to experience this journey with me
