It was a breakthrough by name, and by nature. By 2013, Carlo Ruetz had been playing twisted technoid minimal for a decade, but it was his debut longplayer of that year - Breakthrough - that launched him into the spotlight. Within 24 hours of its release the album crashed into the top spot of Beatport's minimal techno chart, and it also caught the discerning ear of Richie Hawtin. Since that unmissable moment, Carlo has only gathered more and more momentum; acclaimed EPs for MINUS, DEEPERFECT and KD MUSIC, alongside memorable performances at international Minus showcases and Richie Hawtin's essential Ibiza night ENTER. Unique in sound and in situation, Carlo Ruetz is the 'overnight sensation' born of ten years in the trenches of the underground.

Rostock-bred Carlo bought his first turntables and mixer in 2001, and his devotion to the minimalist aesthetic was forged in his early sets. He soon became a regular fixture of clubs and open air parties in northern Germany, then broadened his horizons further, to blaze the stage at ENTER. Ibiza at Space, FUSE Brussels, TOFFLER Rotterdam, 10 DAYS OFF - The Last Waltz Ghent, and a 2015 tour through India. Carlo began writing his own compositions in 2010, and marked up releases for Moonplay Records and Slaap Records before the game-changing arrival of Breakthrough through Supdub Digitales. Carlo Ruetz is Known for starting from scratch with every production, mining deep for unexpected sounds and arrangements, and taking compelling bends and turns while in the DJ booth. It's no surprise that Richie Hawtin counts Carlo Ruetz as part of the new Minus generation. Expect to hear more from this overnight veteran who exists at the leading edge of minimalism and techno.

As a producer, musician, DJ and serial collaborator, Chris Schwarzwälders distinctive style of deep, restrained house is hard to pin down, but you’ll always know it’s him when you hear it. 

Born in Frankfurt am Main in the 80s, he started playing hiphop in the 90s. While making beats on his MPC2000, he dropped into Offenbach’s Robert Johnson club and fell in love with techno. 

In 2009, Chris moved to Berlin and started DJing at KaterHolzig, where he found a group of people who thought about music in the same way he did. In contrast to the trends of the late 00s, the sounds being made from this little paradise on Berlin’s river Spree were slower, softer, and more soulful than a lot of what was being played in clubs at the time. 

It was here that Chris began to cement his reputation as both a solo producer and collaborator, who was capable of bringing his trademark sounds to a whole number of side-projects - many of which have gone on to play to crowds around the globe. He joined the Feathered Sun collective in 2013, together with a group of friends including Acid Pauli, Nu, Jo.Ke and Raz O’Hara. Dreamy, groovy and often improvised, the collective represented a special kind of musical freedom in which a group of producers came together to create something new in a singular, live moment. 

At the same time, Chris’ friend Mira was making moves of her own, and they started to play back-to-back sets, soundtracking the legendary Monday mornings of KaterHolzig, and now, Kater Blau. The two, who are both residents at Kater Blau, have now been playing together internationally for almost a decade, and have formed a common musical understanding that translates throughout every one of their sets - deep, clubby and melancholic. This partnership has also carried on into the studio, where they have collaborated on numerous hits. 

His most light-hearted side comes out in collaboration with Iannis Ritter, where the two musicians take on a weirder, more melodic & electro approach than Chris’ other proejcts. 

If you were to ask him, Chris would describe himself as reserved, logical, rational, melancholic and humorous. Which is why you’d never hear him telling you about the hundreds of nightclubs and festivals he’s played around the globe, or the number of hits he’s had with his productions. If you’re lucky though, Chris might tell you about his favourite synthesizers, and get lost in a conversation all about electronics and sound. Which is exactly where Chris wants to be - lost in electronics and sound.

Andreas Henneberg has made a name for himself as a DJ, label manager and producer of great repute, with a sonic fingerprint that is easily recognisable yet hard to define. Since starting out in the 90s, he has put his name to over 140 releases that operate somewhere between Techno, House and Minimal and always explore unfamiliar sounds in unique new ways.

As well as being the founder of his own label Voltage Musique (with friends Daniel Nitsch, Marquez Ill and Stefan Schuldt) which turns ten years old this year, Henneberg has also made himself at home on influential imprints like Ideal Audio, Confused Recordings, Herzblut and AREAL and is a key part of the Plantage13 family. He doesn’t only produce under his given name, though, but also explores a number of other styles of music as The Glitz (with close friend Mr. Daniel Nitsch), Cascandy and Hennon. Whatever he puts his name to, though, you can be assured that it comes from a place of deep understanding and appreciation that too few producers have in the modern age.

Given the amount of music Andreas has produced over the years, it’s no surprise he is also an in demand ghost-writer for many established artists, helping them to realise their ideas and putting to good use his year’s of priceless studio know how.

As well as all this, the Berliner is also a respected mastering-engineer and DJs on a regular basis at clubs all over the world, spinning knowing blends of House and Techno that not only make you dance, but also make you think. It all started for him at seminal clubs like Tresor and at the very first Berghain/Panoramabar, so his sense of history and class as a DJ is unri- valled, with his sets never failing to leave lasting marks on those that hear them.

Having influenced the East‐German techno scene throughout the last twenty years, Mira established her musical home in Berlin’s legendary Bar25. There, she shaped her very own unique sound that can be considered as a story of these endless nights full of intensity.
Bar25 was also the place for her to meet DJ and producer Chris Schwarzwalder. Moving from his Hip Hop­‐roots towards electronic music, it was not by accident that Chris followed the beat of time to Berlin.
Anyone who has experienced their endless sets already understand why Berliners speak of the particular sound being created by both of them.
A soulful, mesmerizing sound that you will sense sinking under your skin and leaving you with a feeling of deep warm­‐heartedness.
What happens is the perfect chemistry of classic mixing skills along with ingenious live productions that really deserve to be called a moving experience.

For more than the last decade, Ron Flatter has been enriching the house and techno landscape with his own direct and energetic productions and warm, groove-driven DJ sets. Initially the young German was a keen skateboarder and hip hop fan, but the lure of dance music soon pulled him in and he has never looked back since. 

Over the years he has turned out a high number of consistently excellent and innovative tracks that are filled with unique sound design, fresh melodies and plenty of dance floor drive. He has done so on labels like Pour La Vie, Still vor Talent and Traum Schallplatten, always evolving with each new release and exploring fresh new ground. Plenty of taste making talents ardor the world have all played his productions in the past, and recent cuts like “Stupid World” and “Desert” have taken DJs by storm: they combine heavy drums with light, emotive pianos and well-timed breaks that thrill and surprise just when you least expect.

As a DJ, too, Ron is a skilled selector who knows exactly what to drop and when to drop it. He has played in every major club and festival in Europe in the last decade and holds down a key residency in his hometown of Halle (Saale), Germany. It is there that he likes to interact with crowds, read their needs and play to their passions, mixing up deep house and techno and plenty in between. 

After more than 26 EPs and singles, a fine 2011 full length in Growth Rings that really showcased the breadth of his style and more than 50 remixes, all of which have seen Ron put his special stamp on a cultured selection of sounds, Ron Flatter is well and truly a global electronic player who wins big with each and every project. Always releasing and headlining on a regular basis, Ron Flatter’s beats are the beats that matter.
