Africanhiphop.com's mixtape series focusing on forgotten and undiscovered 80s grooves is three volumes deep. Afro Cosmic Club brings uptempo songs from early to mid 1980s urban Africa and the Afro-European diaspora, with a few Caribbean rarities thrown in.

After a volume 2 which was played nearly 25,000 times since Fader Magazine published it, dj Gioumanne’s Afro Cosmic Club vol. 3 was originally hosted by Okayafrica in their Africa In Your Earbuds series (August 2014). Since Okayafrica recently cancelled their Soundcloud account, we have republished the mix here.

When my personal computer with windows 95 as operating system completely crashed at some day in 2004 i could recover the data from its hard disk, but because my way of producing sample-based beats and tracks with my long obsolete version of 'Magix Music Maker Deluxe' felt so botched and unprofessional i left all of my work behind and started completely new, with modern music soft- & hardware.

After i relistened to my Magix Music Maker 4-track productions recently i remembered for the first time how much work and effort i had put into that stuff, and even remembered that i had this idea of an album describing a journey to space - inspired by DJ Shadow, Ko Lute, Photek, Company Flow and other spacy stuff i was listening to at that time.
All these tracks just contain countless layers of samples that are a funny mix of my father's and my music collection, just three tracks contain clumsy synth lines recorded at Lucas Croon's home (<3) with his help, a MIDI-keyboard and the current Reason software.
The artist name i choose at that time was 'Jantronix Schulte & his Jazz Group' so here you g..:
