This mix was compiled and arranged in the same way as the last Fallout themed Atmospheric mix (see the "Nuclear Society" mix for more details), basically searching for key words and arranging the titles in an order that makes some sense (Then bumping about 100 tracks down to 50 and eventually 40 due to time issues).
This time I played a lot of my favourite relevant tracks from my vinyl collection too so this mix felt a bit more familiar but also it was fun to hear a lot of my older tracks sped up and in a mix where they felt perfectly "in context". I always like to find a good home for tracks, even stuff I would not usually play and this mix seemed a good home for all the over the top post apocalyptic or violent themes that crop up in the genre from time to time. As a result (and unlike all the previous Atmospheric mixes) this mix has zero chill. No calm bits I can think of anyway. It's a homage to Fallout first and foremost and has tracks representing the hero, the villains, technology, war, radiation, battles/fighting and many more of the games major themes (there's even an AI Character called "Skynet" in the second game). 
I also tried to get the tracks to "talk" to each other (have speech samples that make sense with the previous and/or next record) as a third goal when arranging the set list and was pleased to hear that happen here & there throughout the mix, even many times in places where I had not predicted for it (it happens a lot more towards the end of the set).
To take the edge off the more angry or scary tracks & samples I added as many funny clips as I could think of that would work in context. It's not much and depending on your sense of humour or language may even go completely unnoticed but the games themselves all have an underlying dark sense of humour so I thought the mix should reflect that too.
This mix also deviated from the previous Atmospheric stuff by including so many forms of human speech and singing, which is something I usually avoid in favour of abstract sounds in these types of mixes. 
Taking this all into account the atmosphere in this set stems mainly from the immersion into the world and themes of Fallout.

For my mixes, especially the newer ones I enjoy the art of blending two records together for as long as possible with no mistakes/clashes (at least that's the general idea). I have practised this technique for around 20 years and find a lot of enjoyment creating a new thing out of two existing things in the process.  I probably even hold a world record somewhere for longest time spent blending records together in a mix, I'd be surprised to hear of anyone else doing the same thing to the same level anyway (though if you know of anyone let me know, especially if they play Hardcore).
I like Hardcore in all it's diverse styles, from the Old Skool Rave (Dutch or UK) to the most contemporary Hardcore Techno, Breakcore, even Happy Hardcore (especially if it's fast) but my preferred style would have to be Speedcore.
