A Confused DJ

I have a love for the majority of electronic music genres, whether it be progressive house, breaks, tech house, drum & bass, techno, grime, electro, chillout, dubstep, deep house and the list goes on. 

I have been playing for over 10 years now, starting as most do with only a love of music, clubs and partying, with little knowledge of music or DJ'ing.  Since then I have moved from playing house parties on vinyl, to being one of the final two members of the Sydney DJ collective 'The Bondi House DJ's'.  The BHDJs have held down our weekly radio show 'The Big Wednesday' on Bondi FM for over four years, with a range of guests including D-Cup, Vincenzo, Flight Facilities and Ben Morris coming in for a chat and spin over that time.  We are the DJs of choice for all the major house parties across Bondi Beach, Tamarama and Bronte, as well as having stints at clubs throughout Kings Cross, the CBD and playing major parties such as Lost on a regular basis.

More recently I have been feeding my growing need to expand my DJ'ing repertoire by partnering up with MC / Singer Bang Bang and creating 'We Go Bang Bang', a soundsystem that mashes breaks, electro, techno, drum & bass and dubstep.  In the 18 months since partnering up on stage we have played at Burning Man, Playground Weekender, Red Bull Good Friday Party and have just wrapped up a summer residency at Upstairs Beresford.

So I guess you could call me a confused DJ as I never know where to start or where I'll end.....So many choices, so little time!

Mystics have always used sound in ways far beyond the realm of mere entertainment - by breathing in an ethereal dimension into simple rustic sounds from life around to give us a taste of the beyond. A simple twang of the ektara often did what a thousand words could not do to touch people.

Sounds of Isha is Sadhguru's own home grown, anomalous group of 'musicians' - inspired by their deep yearning and sense of gratitude. Dabbling with and melting into their instruments, their work is a subtle fusion of the rich and diverse beings that they are. The group members are full-time volunteers with Isha Foundation, living a life of dedication and austerity; thus, their inspirational songs are usually created after a full day's activity, due to their passion and zest to share a different dimension of the foundation's work.

Their melodies are a fusion of music from different parts of the world - traversing effortlessly and seamlessly across boundaries and cultures. Whilst the music of these songs sooth our minds and the melodies enthrall us, the true potential of the songs is in their capability to instill in us an element of the eternal silence that touches the core of the human being. The performances of Sounds of Isha are set apart to deliver a potent and intoxicating ethereal concoction, transporting those who listen into subtler states of being - becoming the basis for inner exploration.

Nat Duthil has had on and off-air presence at Bondi FM since 2004. Passionate about music, her radio debut was focused on old skool vibes from the 70s,80s & 90s eras. She then came back a few years later with a Hip Hop show called "Soul Skool". 

Following the closure of Bondi FM and the iconic Bondi FM Cafe in January 2013, she started a new online radio station Bondi Beach Radio in April 2013. Situated on the infamous Bondi Beach, this new venture has primarily an underground audience on the local and international scene. With live broadcasts as their speciality, BBR has popped-up at various events, festivals and parties over the past year, hosted some prestigious big name DJs and MCs on their stream and continue to do so...

Nat has for the time being moved back to Mauritius to continue her musical journey...

In 2022, in partnership with a friend, she launched RISE, a series of events including Vibration Healing her Paiste Gong & Ecstatic Dance DJ sets, taking people on a journey of sound and body movement.
