Marco & Simon meet at School, Soon discovering they had the same interests in the Hip Hop movement that had filtered over to the U.K from America in the early 80's (Electro, Graffiti , Breakdancing and Scratch mix Djing). Discovering the breaks that the Djs were cutting up and playing from all Genre's of Music (Funk, Jazz, Disco, Soul, Dub, Reggae) , Hunting down the samples & breaks of the Hip Hop tracks they were listening to. Then boom the Acid House scene took over the U.K and they were both soon attending various Raves up and down the country at weekend's. Soon there was a change in the records they were both hunting down and a different rhythm and beat was taking over. Both of them brought some equipment and decided to take up production and started making tracks in the studio under the name Filta Freqz focusing on the Funky Jackin House Scene. "For this fabric mix, I wanted to stay true to my vision of a DJ set: a selection blending unreleased tracks from UK producers, never-heard tunes from close friends, a few old school gems, and some fresh new releases that really speak to me.

The idea was to craft a mix I could actually play in a club. The hardest part? Trying not to get lost listening to all the unreleased stuff instead of focusing on the mix itself — so much exciting music, it was almost cruel to choose.

I recorded this mix using the Euphonia rotary mixer, which I absolutely love. It brings a different feel to the mix — smoother, deeper, more tactile.

Big thanks to fabric for the trust, and to everyone who contributed to this mix in one way or another.

Hector Moralez is a DJ, music producer, and one of the key figures in the underground house
music scene, known for his influential work across sub-genres like House, Techno, Acid House,
and Tech House. Hailing from Oakland, California, Hector's musical journey began in the 1990s,
inspired by the diverse music culture of the Bay Area — a city known for its rich fusion of
hip-hop, funk, and house. These early influences became the foundation for his distinctive
sound, blending funky grooves with soulful undertones.
Hector’s passion for music led him to start DJing and producing at a young age, quickly earning
a reputation for his infectious energy and creative mixing. His style draws heavily from the
sounds of Chicago house, Detroit techno, and West Coast funk, while still pushing boundaries
and embracing innovation. As a DJ, Hector has earned the respect of global audiences, known
for his ability to connect with crowds through his dynamic performances and carefully curated
sets.
Over the years, Hector has played at some of the world’s most renowned venues, including The
End Club and The Egg Club in London, The End Up and 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, and
The Rex Club in Paris. His long-running Get Underground night at Club Six in San Francisco
further solidified his status in the scene, creating a space for underground music lovers to
experience unforgettable nights.
With residencies at iconic nightclubs like The Rex Club in Paris and Sankeys in Ibiza, Hector
continues to inspire new generations of DJs and producers with his commitment to authentic
house music. His music is celebrated for its deep, soulful feel, technical brilliance, and timeless
energy, maintaining a strong connection to the roots of underground dance culture while
pushing it forward into the future.
