Over the last sixteen years, DJ Phil has evolved from a protege and student of the late DJ Rashad to one of the most ambitious core members of Chicago's Teklife collective. 
In that time, the Chicago native has released several projects that expose a deeper melodic angle that tends to deviate from the traditional fast-paced nature of footwork. Apart from several independent releases, Phil has also released recordings through TAR, Moveltraxx, and Night Slugs, with a focus on fusing Chicago's rich history of house music with more modern juke/footwork.
