In the last month, I have been indulging in a fantasy, er... hardcore, you could say. Recently, I've wanted nothing else but to melt some faces.

So I made this little thing as a tribute to the artists that have formally shaped my new(er)-found appreciation of that hard and heavy sound: the machine-gun kicks, the heart-stopping hoovers, all things slick and steely. 

It's my second-ever full-length mix with an actual controller: a Traktor Kontrol S4 MK1 with a custom Virtual DJ 8 MIDI mapping. This mix also features a whole BUNCH of 2018 releases, including Camellia's GALAXY BURST, lapix's L, t+pazolite's late-2017 Good Evening, HOLLOWood... and Kobaryo's very own April release for SOUND VOLTEX IV HEAVENLY HAVEN. Hey y'all!!!

On 12/20, I livestreamed my first-ever gabber mix. It was a fist-pumping, mind-melting tribute to 2018's hardest dance tracks, especially Team/DJ Grimoire's. Mashups abound in this mix, unrestricted by tempo and personalized by some very special edits for very special people.

FIRE FEST 2019 UPTEMPO HARDCORE MIX

Back in 2018 I was pretty against uploading my AZFC set because... well, let's be real. Mistakes were made. 

But here's the thing: that set was fucking awesome. I loved every song in it; the transitions were great and the mashups were greater. The dance floor was on /fire/ and I cherished every person stoking its flames. I realized after some recent reflection that I didn't have a problem with my mistakes in a vacuum: it was my first set! They were to be expected! But it upset me that the MP3 monument uploaded in its honor was so... so.... /meh./

So I'm releasing my demo version -- which was, for all intents and practical purposes, a perfect run. There are still some weird cuepoint quantizing shenanigans, maybe a beatmatching error or two. But I listened to it constantly leading up to the convention. It was the first full-length mix where I felt I had some control, some talent, something /good./ And I couldn't wait to share it with y'all.

P.S: The phasing you hear at the beginning is me testing an EQ preset. Your headphones aren't dying! Promise!
