The latest offering from Madloch's Sound Avenue welcomes Matias Vila back to the label for a new single. Having first appeared on the Belgian imprint in 2012, the Argentinean producer has grown into one of the label's core artists. Matias has developed a transcendent sound which is all his own, one where organic qualities marry groovy basslines and psychedelic design in a highly stylized fashion. Having last appeared on Sound Avenue with the beloved 'Ahora', a track which highlighted the label's 2018 'Summer Sampler' and eventually went on to receive a remix from Hermanez and Eran Aviner in 2019. Played for months by world class DJ Hernan Cattaneo, the remix enjoyed an extended stay in Beatport's Top 10 and by year's sat atop the label's best-selling tracks. Now presenting his first new music in over three years, Matias makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with 'Union Eterna', alongside remixes from Sebastian Sellares and Weird Sounding Dude.

Also making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Union Eterna' is Weird Sounding Dude. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist has grown into one of his country's most beloved progressive house producers. As a firm favourite of the genre's most highly regarded tastemakers, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and UK behemoth Anjunadeep. Also notching appearances on Sound Avenue affiliates 3rd Avenue and Future Avenue, Weird Sounding Dude continues what has been an inspired 2021 with a thrilling take on 'Union Eterna'. Atop compact beats comes a forest of effervescent percussion and a wall of wavy, shape shifting bass. Mysterious and driving throughout, it's a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for an energetic yet atmospheric journey. Although primarily operating as a dub, warm overlays and melodious cascades highlight a concise yet impactful break, bringing with it chromatic warmth and reflective moments, before the groove resets and puts a cap on this creative gem. It rounds out a welcome return to Sound Avenue for Matias Vila, who after a three year hiatus has delivered his most inspired creation to date.

Providing a progressive masterclass in November 2020, Matter’s “Amanita” was a powerful platform for the Australian to release his solo debut EP on Meanwhile. Now, returning to the three-track offering, a trio of remixes create a new perspective.

Matias Chilano is an artist with an impressive and varied portfolio to his name, dating back to a debut for LuPS Records in mid-2008. Over 400 production credits followed as the Argentinean found his work allied to the likes of Roger Martinez’s Higher States, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and a pair of tracks on Patrice Bäumel’s ground-breaking 2019 mix for “Global Underground #42 Berlin”. Another Meanwhile debutant, the Matias Chilano remix is a typically powerful offering, redolent in the wonderful rolling rhythms and delightful melodic patterns that have become such a feature of his work. Rippling arps hint at the motifs found in “Hikikomori” as immaculate and imaginative use is made of Matter’s remix components. Building though a fusion of white noise and snare rolls, the track rises and falls with ease in club-friendly manner before a new delay-fuelled synth lead makes its mark in the second half to devastating effect.

A renowned Sri Lankan producer with over 150 production credits to his name, Dimuth K has found himself featured on such renowned imprints as Plattenbank, BeatFreak Recordings and Proton Music. An award-winning DJ with performances alongside Guy J, Sahar Z and Guy Mantzur, Dimuth makes his Meanwhile debut with a driving rhythmic interpretation that treats “Hikikomori” to a ticking percussive groove and seismic kick drum. Using elements of Matter’s bassline to intelligent effect, a beautifully shimmering arp makes its presence felt while a unique sonic tapestry weaves elements from the original into new production material from the Dimuth K production arsenal. The result is an evolving melodic gem that flourishes post-breakdown to mesmerising effect.

An iconic name with a tidal wave of success, GMJ returns with another outstanding remix. A regular contributor to his co-owned label, the Melbourne based star has already lit up Meanwhile with a plentiful supply of original material over 2020 that includes “Mood Medicine” in solo guise, and the “Lost on Origin”, “Eldarin” and “The Path / Perfect Storm” EPs with Matter. Reworking “Wormhole”, the GMJ remix thus continues the rich, rolling groove that forms such a central tenet of his production ideology. Building in pace, melodic references to the original make their play, accompanied by pulsating white-noise washes and trademark reverb and delay-soaked synth lines that extend into the third movement. A deep sub-bass adds weight aplenty and the track waxes and wanes with ease across its near 10-minute timeframe.

Mushrooming into a new sonic adventure, Matter’s “Amanita” is transformed via remixes from Matias Chilano, Dimuth K and GMJ.

Another big talent from Argentina, next on AH Digital is Facundo Baggio with the amazing "Abedul". His original track is a fantastic deep progressive house track full of melody and atmosphere. Including great remixes by Ignacio Berardi, Ramiro Alvarez and Nobilis.
