The DJs Pareja have been flagging they’re a DJ duo in love long before the recent trend. ‘Pareja’ literally translates as ‘couple’, and that is just how Diego and Mariano do life; in tandem.

It may not seem so radical these days, but the Pareja’s have been unapologetically queer trailblazers in their hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina - throwing raves and putting out pop dance records for decades. It took us years to get these boys to come play for us in San Francisco, but when they finally did, minutes off the plane we were hugging and shedding a little tear in front of the Castro theatre sign.

I always knew that one day we would get them on the label, and this EP is a product of how far this new gay techno underground has come. So it is with great pleasure we present 4 tracks produced south of the Equator, mixed for the gods, with some signature vocals and some sounds we’ve never heard from these Argy boys sleeping in a Queen bed.

The After

Djs Pareja - Filtro

Djs Pareja have been integral in defining the new-school of South American techno both as producers with releases on Cómeme, Turbo and Honey Soundsystem, and as ecstatic djs playing all over the world.

Djs Pareja are Mariano Caloso and Diego Irasusta, a Buenos Aires-based duo of djs and producers who have played in the most important clubs and festivals in Argentina and all over the world since 2000, taken their personal and eclectic style wherever they go. Core members of the amazing Cómeme record label run by Matias Aguayo, the duo have been integral in defining the new-school of techno made in South America.

They have toured Europe three times, Mexico four times and the USA, Canada and Australia. They are the Argentinean djs with the most international growth in the last years by the hand of Cómeme and Turbo. They have been resident djs of the legendary Compass parties at Niceto Club Bs.As. and now-a-days they throw their own parties, Fun Fun and Leftclub in the city capital.

They have done remixes for Little Dragon, Justin Robertson, Rodion, Alejandro Paz, Steve Lawler, Gui Boratto and Matias Aguayo to name a few. Apart from their productions for Cómeme, they have also released EP’s on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings as well as on Huntleys & Palmers, Honey Soundsystem Records and Schalen. 

Their latest release is called "Nuestra Forma" (Muy Muy Limited Records), a 4-track EP of shoegaze dance music in collaboration with young singer and producer Lupe, also from Buenos Aires.
