Awoken Records was established in 2025 with a bold vision: to spotlight the dynamic musical cultures of the UK and South Africa. From the underground to the mainstream, we exist to champion artists who are redefining sound, identity, and rhythm across borders.

Our mission is more than music — it's about cultural exchange, legacy, and innovation. Whether it's grime, amapiano, garage, gqom, drill, house, or experimental blends, we believe in music that moves people — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Scotti Dee stands out as a prominent figure in London's vibrant UK Amapiano/Afrohouse scene, having collaborated with some of the UK's biggest labels such as HOUSUPA, HYPERDUB, and 7WALLACE among others. With an unwavering passion for heavy basslines, Scotti Dee has meticulously crafted numerous releases that captivate audiences worldwide."

In the more than 15 years since the last Clipse album hit the shelves of record stores, the music world has been upended several times over. “You see great rappers all the time,” Pusha-T says, before contrasting he and his older brother Malice with those who are not truly of the culture. “But there's something a little off about it.” Let God Sort ‘Em Out has no such problems. Over 13 taut, kinetic beats from longtime collaborator Pharrell, Pusha and Malice exorcise demons and catalog areas of personal growth—without ever sacrificing the menace and minimalism that made them legends of the genre. It is a master class in maturing without abandoning one’s core identity, but rather deepening it, making it more three-dimensional. “The fact that it has remained viable for so long has allowed me to say, ‘Hey, this must be meant to be,’” Malice says. Let God Sort ‘Em Out is an instantly unforgettable contribution to the duo’s catalog, and to hip-hop writ large, filled with the type of razor-toothed exercises that made Clipse icons in the first place. Take the taunting “Inglorious Bastards” or “Marie Kondo,” which scoffs at “60-day stars and 20-year thousandaires.” The beats, which Pusha describes as “polarizing,” are urgent, technicolor, and hold plenty of space for the vocal to become the track’s most important instrument. The need to be authentic is paramount, but it’s also natural to these two. Perhaps Malice puts it most clearly: “Nothing else works for us.”

This London-based DJ, Producer, Remixer, and Label Head is known for his variation in styles, technical ability, and ability to take you on a musical journey.

DJ IC, touted by DJ Magazine as London's afro house craftsman, is known for his enlightening DJ sets featuring an array of exclusive edits and remixes that keep the party going.

IC strikes the perfect balance in playing soulful, spiritual Afro House accompanied by hard-hitting beats with a cutting edge. Studying music technology back in 1999 was a real eye opener and catalyst for IC's journey, getting to understand music at a deeper level has been the key to his current successes.

Beyond DJing IC is not only a DJ, Producer, Ghost Producer & Remixer, he is also an Author, Music Reviewer, Mentor and Label Head for the newly established label ‘All Shades Of The Drum Recordings’.
