ARTBAT return to Definition:Music after their last release, ‚Mandrake EP‘ gained loads of support from heavy hitters like Richie Hawtin, Umek, Oivlier Giacomotto and more. This time they’ve come with ‘Saltation’ this time, a collaboration with Definition, as well as an original paired with a Joal remix. First things first, the title track slowly opens its dark doors and lets the cool air flow as the energy slowly rises. As we get closer we see just how deep it gets as the kicks return and things really pick up. A great atmosphere, solid production and a brilliant bassline carry this track throughout. ‘Upcast’ gives off more of a deep house vibe thanks to a seducing percussion. As the track opens itself further it lifts everything higher and further before dropping you back onto the dancefloor. Joal gives the track a tech-house feel and explores the subtler sides of the track, giving it a glowing after-hour feel.

San Diego, CA native Harvard Bass comes to Demuir’s Purveyor Underground label with a provocative Tech House release that is surely to create a striking impression on dancefloors worldwide.
With previous releases on Sci + Tec, Turbo, Desolat, and Relief Records, Harvard and his music is well known to top DJs / Producers who have openly supported and charted his tracks including the likes of Demuir, Green Velvet, DJ Sneak, and Harry Romero.

The EP’s title borrows it name from one of the tracks, “Step It Up” and is backed by, “Break It On Down”. Both songs embody Harvard’s crisp and raw bass, drum work, and percussive tones, however “Step It Up” distinctly draws listeners and dancers in by building to a climatic peak that intelligently brings all the elements together. Throughout its’ groove, you grasp the little intricate pieces that compliment the foundational bass synth throughout - like the tuplet rolled closed hats, choppy vocals, and occasional doubling of snares.

And there is more! “Break It Down” provides a straight percussive drive supported by vocals that play off one other and then crashing into an enormous “HEY!!!” while staying in line with the hypnotic channel.

As with all our artists, Harvard lives an artsist’ truth and respects the music, culture and it’s foundation. We believe this will bring about good vibes to any dancefloor or festival. Enjoy and rinse!

Rogue D is the new solo project from Danny Minchella. Under this new moniker he delivers the eagerly awaited Chains. Set to be one of the biggest tracks of the year, it’s a high octane, club-ready number with abundant driving percussion. Unstoppable force Patrick Topping is also back on home ground for the remix.

“Chains was inspired by Jamie 3:26’s and Cratebug’s edit of Loretta Holloway ‘Hit N Quit’ - I wanted a simple, raw track, killer bassline and a soulful vocal. The process was very fast and I made the majority of the groove in one morning. I dug deep in my collection, looking for that special vocal and came across Steve Silk Hurley’s “Chain of Fools’ (with Aretha Franklin on the original vocal), and it just made the record pop!” - Rogue D

As an artist Minchella has played some of the world’s most esteemed establishments and released on a wealth of high profile labels. He now aims to use his Rogue D guise as a means to express his forward thinking and personal tastes in sound- from techno to old school garage to the sounds of Detroit. He’s already released on DFTD as well as providing a remix of Soul Clap’s Misty on Classic Music Company.

In his relatively short career so far, label favourite Patrick Topping has made the cover of Mixmag, won a coveted DJ Mag Best Of British award and made the Resident Advisor Top 100 DJs. He’s released some of the biggest tracks on Hot Creations and is resident for Jamie Jones’ Paradise at DC10. On his rework of Chains, Topping isolates the vocal and adds a tribal bounce to proceedings.

Mathame refine their singular sound on ‘Skywalking’ and a collaboration with Tale Of Us, ‘Departure’.
Following 2018’s ‘Nothing Around Us’ single, Mathame show no sign of slowing down. Their Afterlife Recordings follow up is a dancefloor single of epic proportions, taking the duo further into a realm of their own. Tension hangs off the sliding chords and spacious arrangements. In the case of ‘Skywalking’ it reaches an uplifting, euphoric crescendo, in Tale Of Us’ intro edit of ‘Departure’ the theme goes darker and off-kilter. Grammy-nominated producer Nic Fanciulli joins Radio Slave’s Rekids this February with two thumping cuts entitled ‘Understand’.

Having appeared before as a remixer of Radio Slave’s seminal ‘Grindhouse’ in 2012, Saved Records founder Nic Fanciulli now finally joins the Rekids imprint for the first time with original material. Highly regarded for holding residencies in some of the biggest super clubs in the world like Ibiza’s Space and Pacha, the longstanding British DJ is also responsible for four legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. His production distinction spans to a revered Grammy nomination at the age of only 26 for Best Recording Remix as part of Buick Project, to his acclaimed debut album 'My Heart' with collaborations alongside the likes of British Rock legend Damon Albarn.

The title track opens the release with submarine-like bleeps chiming over a mysterious voice repeating “understand”, while a growling bass dives deep beneath a thundering drum groove. On the flip, ‘Where U At’ features mesmerising vocal cries that flutter between upbeat stabs and bouncy percussion that expertly bolsters a driving low end.

Fanciulli’s arrival on Rekids follows a strong 2018 for the label featuring appearances from Butch, Mark Broom, Nocow, Sebo K and SRVD (Matt Edwards & Patrick Mason).

French DJ and producer Chloé makes her debut on Diynamic Music with a rousing three-tracker. After the recent release of her live-album “Endless Revisions Live” she goes right back out there with the “Sudden Impact EP” on the Hamburg-based imprint.

As a cornerstone of the French (and by now certainly the international) electronic music scene, who has been active for 20 years, Chloé understands the relevance of the visual aspects of music. As a cover she chose a photograph by Céline Clanet, which seems like a frame stolen out of a movie, saying that “we understand that something has happened, but we are not sure what - I really like these ideas of moment, time, suspended time, as if time had stopped.”
She is creating the soundscape to the portrayed landscape, and by that giving it a reference point – a sudden impact. And this is how “Last Go Round”, the opening track of her EP, feels.

“Revolve and Dive” follows up with an infectious bassline and synth elements that have “summer” and “open air” written all over them.
And closing off the EP is “What Will Be”: the layered bits of samples that morph and become part of the percussions will make it a feel good anthem for months to come.
