THIS is exactly why when we had our sold out NYE at the You Plus One headquarters this year I was on some next level energy. From behind what I consider 1 of the greatest stages in Canada, I felt the room filled with the pent up energy from those years lost. Felipe Millard is a Brazilian DJ, who, like a large part of the population, has traces of his family's history of indigenous colonization. After delving into the study of Ayahuasca medicine and rescuing the connection with his ancestry, the musical project Ancestrall emerged, where he found his life purpose, uniting electronic music with ritualistic sounds. He discovered in ethnic sounds (downtempo, organic house and Afro house) the perfect union of everything he believes in, spiritual music of healing and liberation from our deepest layers.

None of us can believe that this little secret + private gathering has spun so wildly out of control + somehow has lasted 6 YEARS!!! One of Canada's most precious + unique electronic music establishments, the HAUS is now world famous with it's international artist guests leaving with the same sentiments: That the HAUSPARTY is one of the greatest underground events on the planet. 

I have been playing a lot harder lately as I've been finding myself performing bigger celebratory events. For this special 3 hour set I dove deep and went back to the classic "Siavash" sound that you all know and love. There's nothing I love more than telling a story that spans genres and generations. From unreleased future works to golden classics. DJs forgive me for this 98% Shazam proof set ;) as most these songs will not be released for some time, some perhaps never.

Erdi Irmak is simply one of the most eclectic producers in the modern deep & melodic scene. The Turk has carved his own path, releasing sensational cross-cultural sounds on the likes of Tale & Tone, Amulanga, and Hoomidas. The XYZ faithful will have grown fond of Erdi’s work on the imprint thus far, appearing on each of our Oppo projects and recently released 'Driftwood' along with a set of remixes.
