Siavash, the luminary Canadian DJ / producer and visionary wizard behind the You Plus One universe, is making room for his spot as an artist to watch in the global underground scene. His work has gained loyal support from industry leaders such as Damian Lazarus, Joris Voorn, Âme, Dubfire, Sasha, and John Digweed. This year alone he has seen a jaw-dropping tally of five back-to-back "Top 5" releases each signed to esteemed labels such as Get Physical, Mobilee, Poker Flat, and 8-Bit. Now, to cap off this triumphant lap around the sun, he unveils his latest conjuring: Make Room. 

As always, Siavash manages to warp standard dance concepts to again carve his own lane. This dark house groover is so unique it's hard to categorise, yet contains all the vintage elements guaranteed to resonate with heads around the world. Oozing with character and attitude, the original is the soundtrack for a sweat-dripping warehouse all-nighter.

This EP is made fuller with the contrasting stripped-down remix by the Italian hitmaker who can do no wrong, IVORY. He focuses on flow and progression, melting the original production into an old-school New York housey vibe with a modern twist. Delivering what we consider a very proud companion to the title track.

You Plus One kicks off 2024 guns blazing with the latest EP by the German master of originality, Ron Flatter. Titled 'Remote,' this 3 track package is a bold departure from the norms for the respected veteran DJ and producer, and it features a creatively reimagined remix by the legendary Canadian wizard Siavash alongside his Brazilian studio-mate Tiago de Renor.

The album explodes with the title track, 'Remote,' a hypnotic blend of keys and bells that showcases Flatter's ever-evolving sound design. The track builds upon itself through intricate layering of synths laced with impactful vocals, creating the perfect electronic symphony. The remix by Siavash + Tiago de Renor delivers a striking plot-twist, elevating the original with a fresh drum-heavy perspective that dance heads won't want to sleep on. The B-side bonus track 'Bruunshaker' takes us on an early-2000s-rump-shaking-rave-journey with a signature Flatter twist. Tired of returning home from my tours only to feel a deep sense of disappointment with Vancouver’s electronic music spaces, I set out eight years ago to change that. I wanted a place where people could celebrate our culture freely, be themselves, and experience the world’s best international artists on a weekly basis. A space where music comes first and the selfie cam stays at the door. A room with brilliant sound, a true family vibe, and an atmosphere that transports you back to the golden era of dance culture.

Now, after eight relentless years of building, I can proudly say that HAUSPARTY is officially a global underground destination. We've put Vancouver on the dance music map, and both artists and patrons now travel from around the world to experience this rare unicorn of the HOUSE + TECHNO universe.

After almost a year since my previous HAUSPARTY mix, this 8-year anniversary performance hit differently I realized we’ve reached yet another dream we set out to achieve + I believe I played the my fav set I have ever thrown down in the place we all call The HAUS.
