It was summer of 1984 the first time I heard this classic song.  No, it wasn't the original 1973 version of "Why Can't We Live Together" by the great Timmy Thomas which I would discover much later. It was Sade's version from her very first album "Diamond Life." I remember standing on Jefferson Ave. in my hometown of Detroit and this kid walked by playing it loudly on his "Boom Box" (It completely stopped me in my tracks).  I've been in love with this song ever since. This sultry version by the incredible Shaun Escoffery (Singer of House Classics: "Days Like This" & "Music In Me")has also been a favorite of mine for a minute now. "Harvest For The World" was originally released in 1976 as a single by The Isley Brothers on their T-Neck imprint. The iconic song was the title track from the Harvest For The World LP and was one of their socially conscious singles. Written by the Isley’s as a group effort, the song is an open-hearted call for equality across the planet. Guitarist and principle lyricist, Ernie Isley said "Harvest For The World" refers to a peaceful gathering where every human being is invited, and where no-one will be hindered in any way from participating."

A personal favorite of Groove Junkies’ Evan Landes, “Harvest’s” message still resonates loudly today. It serves as a perfect vehicle for Groove Junkies, Will ‘Reelsoul’ Rodriquez & songstress Nichelle Monroe’s highly anticipated follow up single to their #1 2018 MoHo hit “My Truth” (and subsequent Afro-soul mashup “Feel My Truth” w/ legends Manoo & DJ Spen on Quantize). The trio’s gorgeous treatment stays true to the original in form, but with resolute focus on today’s modern dance floors. Man, when I was a teenager and really starting to appreciate music Kashif was one of my favorite producers. I remember listening to Howard Johnson's now classic "So Fine" wondering who made that smooth music? It turned out to be Kashif. I later found out that he produced some of my favorite songs of that time. Then in 1983 he released his first solo project and I was totally hooked. "Help Yourself to My Love" was from that debut album simply titled "Kashif" and was and is still my favorite song of his. I really hope you guys enjoy it...

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
