This mix is a slight departure from my norm. The first song in the set "I Get Moody Sometimes" by the late great Amp Fidler (A musical legend from my hometown of Detroit) definitely sets the tone. The song is slow and funky and features another Detroit icon "Moodyman." This musical mood might require a nice candle light, a smooth beverage and a really cool space. I am still inspired from my New York trip as I had a couple of these songs playing in my headphones as a traveled around town last December. "Full Moon" by Mr. Fingers was definitely one of them and it stayed on repeat that weekend. (Woooo) I started to pick up the pace and get a little Soulful towards the end and I will for sure pick that vibe back up on my next mix, but in the meantime I hope you guys Enjoy!!!

I was thinking about the time I first heard the name Luther Vandross. It was probably 1981 or so, although I would later find out that Luther had begun his musical career in the 1970's, providing backup vocals for any and everyone. My Mother had lots of records that I would later discover LV sang backup on. But it was an album by the group "Change" that I bought in the early 80's when I first fell in love with DJing, when I flipped over the record and read that Mr. Vandross was the lead singer on my two favorite songs in this now Disco Classic album: "Searching" and my favorite "The Glow of Love" which will be featured in this mix. This set features some of Luther's biggest hits as well as some of his lesser known songs but it's going to be fun. I'm not really sure what's been bringing me back to this Luther vibe that I've been feeling lately but I'm really diggin' it... Enjoy!!!

It's really a trip how organic a DJ Mix can come together. I have been waiting to repackage and rerelease my old "Jill Scott Mix" from nearly 10 years ago. Then my dude "Stevie B" a fantastic DJ/Producer from out of Chicago released his Fire remix of "I Need You" this afternoon so I said "Hmmmm, maybe I should do another version of Jill with some of her Oldies and some of newer lesser known bangers?" I grew up loving the music of Prince! I stated many times how our local radio DJ "Mojo" played his music like no other. Prince broke his records in the D, played secret listening sessions at small local bars and as the 'Purple One' stated himself just how much he loved Detroit. And boy did Detroit love him back. As the anniversary of his passing approaches I decided to release this one for the DJ's in particular. I remember going to a "Purple Passion Party" (An all Price Gig) right before I moved away from Detroit in the late 90's and it's still one of the best gigs I've ever attended. The vibe was just so incredible. The DJ who I had never heard of played underground remixes and B-sides all night long. The crowd absolutely went crazy. I remember I had a sprained ankle and was out in the middle of the floor with my walking cane, dancing as best as I could. A night I will never forget... (LOL) R.I.H to one of the all time musical G.O.A.T's!!!

Hey everyone. It sure has been a minute! This is my first radio mixshow in nearly 6 years! Originally recorded April 1, 2024.. I am just getting around to posting it today, April 23 (One week before my 55th Birthday :) ) I have been on quite a journey (as many have in the world) these last 4-5 years and I really have been wanting to record one of these for some time and thanks to a dear friend of mine in Orlando named Alim Abrahim who pushed me and had all the gear all set up, recording this became a no brainer :)

Wow, it's been over seven months since my last Vinyl Sessions Set. Although this one is called "Volume 21" its actually my 22nd all vinyl mix including my "Warm Up" session released way back in 2020. I absolutely love playing vinyl because the mixes end up being a little bit more eclectic and way more challenging. First setting up my gear can be a hassle, I'm currently working in a small studio so my turntables aren't always set up. Then I play using natural light so I need a nice sunny day. (I think I need a new Camera?) So there are a few moving parts to make a session happen but its so gratifying when I get one completed and you guys really seem to enjoy that vinyl touch. "VS21" has a couple of newer tunes by EOL featuring the multitalented Josh Milan, a "Banger" by June Jazzin' a talented producer out of South Africa and I ran three in a row from one of my all time favorite producers: Glenn Underground. All that being said, I'm really glad to be playing my first Vinyl Sessions of 2024 so I hope you guys enjoy the music... Let's Dance!!!

Let's Get Moving

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
