This Set was totally  inspired by the early 80's, a period when I first fell in love with Dance Music in Detroit. This was after "Disco" and before "House." As young teens we just borrowed our parents records and dug for new ones at old record shops all around town...  just trying to find that perfect Banger! Nine of the ten songs on this Mix are Remixes and or Edits of those great jams. 1982's "You're Are In My System" by The System was and still is one of my all time Fav's. I found a great underground remix of Marvin Gaye's hidden gem "Funk Me" from way back in 1981. Then there's DJ /Producer Dr. Packer's smokin' re-work of Thelma Houston's (1984) Banger "Used To Hold Me So Tight." (Whew) The only newer cut (2012) is Bobby Womack's "The Greatest Man in The Universe" well, just because he's Bobby Womack! (R.I.P) So plug in those Head-Phones, Turn Up those KRK's and lets get ready to Dance to Songs From Waaaay Back!!!

Songs From Way Back Then.

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
