Its been a minute since I played a South African inspired House Mix. As many of you guys now, I stay fascinated with that Deep Afro sound and their entire scene. I've noticed lately that a lot of the grooves are a bit slower these days with BPM's around 115 so I started 'Vibes' off with a few gems like "LiYoshona" by Kwiish SA that feature that Deep Funky sound. The BPM's gradually increase with "Bangers" by Mikki Afflick, Djeff and Malumz on Deckz as we head to out virtual dance floor. And the set ends with a masterpiece and a song that I've been playing all summer song "Osama" by Zakes Bantwini. So get your "Musical Passports" ready as we take a musical journey to The Motherland. My Vinyl Sessions journey continues with another playlist filled with both old and a few brand new gems. I love this series because its just so organic, it totally reminds me of when I used to play records in my room growing up as a teenager in Detroit in the early 1980's. No "Bells or Whistles" just some good music and the passion to play it. My initial vision for these sets was to showcase some really cool areas and venues around town here in Miami but of course that's still put on pause for a minute. In the meantime I will just keep playing these "Bangers" right here from my humble home studio. (So Grateful)

Vinyl Sessions Vol. 8

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
