Growing up in Detroit definitely made me fall in love with many different genres of music. From the amazing artist and musicians to the major labels that were being run in the city when I was a kid. But my main influence like so many of my peers in the early 80's was an iconic DJ named "The Electrifying Mojo" or just Mojo for short. Mojo played everything from Funk to Jazz, New Wave to Rock and Roll. But Mojo was probably best known for playing Prince! Mojo started with his early releases and wouldn't just play one song or two. Mojo would play the entire side of a record and then turn around and "Run it Right Back." His musical freedom on the airwaves WGPR (At the time) was unprecedented. I absolutely fell in love with Price's music during those days. I became a Prince album collector and went to all of his shows in Detroit and he visited us quite often as a direct result of Mojo's exposure. My favorite Prince album was and is "1999" and my favorite song is still "Something in The Water" (Does Not Compute). The past few years I have slipped in a few Prince Edits into my DJ Sets so I wanted to have a personal version of this classic to play as well. Enjoy...

If you have listen to some of my mixes over the years, you have probably heard me playing an Anita Baker remix here and there. I absolutely love her sultry voice and her being from my hometown of Detroit sure doesn't hurt either. I have been a fan of hers since hearing her early stuff with her band "Chapter 8" way back in 1979. The other day I was flipping through some old vinyl records and found her masterpiece "Rapture" and just couldn't stop playing it. It brought back so many good memories! So you know me, I wanted to put my 4am touch on "Mystery" and try to get this amazing song played on somebody's mellowed out Dance Floor! (Enjoy)

It's really cool how the universe works. I've been wanting to really get back into my "Disco Roots" and start making a few dance edits here and there. My brain was totally locked on what old songs songs to try, then out of nowhere one of my lifelong buddies Brian Slaughter messages me and says hey: "Maybe you should remix "Stay Free" by the legendary Ashford & Simpson." I hadn't heard this song in over 30 years but since Brian has such good taste in music I gave it a listen. The moment the song started I knew this was going to be an absolute "Floor Filler" Woooweeee!!! I Hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did making it... \o/

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
