When I was a teenager growing up in Detroit I was totally obsessed with the band The Police! Of course I got into them with their smash hit "Roxanne" and their first two albums were amazing but it was the album "Zenyatta Mondatta" that totally sealed the deal for me and turned me into a lifelong fan. This song" "When The World is Running Down, You Make the Best of What's Still Around" seems an appropriate tune to play on somebody House inspired Dance Floor! (Enjoy)

I started playing records and falling in love with Dance Music way back in 1980. That same year, Change released an album and featured a couple of "Gems" that featured a young session singer and upcoming song writer named Luther Vandross. The first tune that opened my eyes was "Glow of Love" I loved that song and really started paying attention. Then I heard "Searching" from that same album and my mouth absolutely hit the floor. Here was this guy Luther singing a Disco type song that I could immediately put on my turntable and play. I was officially a fan from that moment forward. "Promise Me" written by Luther off of his (1982) album "Forever for Always, for Love" What a song! I've always wanted to hear a version of this beautiful song strictly for the Dancers... (Enjoy)

By 1985 I was very familiar with the brilliant singer, songwriter, composer Mr. Luther Vandross and he slowly but surely, song by song simply turning into "Luther!" (One Name) This beautiful song was released on his second solo album "Forever, For Always, For Love" in 1982 but I always paired his voice in my mind to the dance floor. maybe it was his early songs "Searching" and "The Glow of Love" with the group Change (1980). Never the less Luther was here to stay... Enjoy!!!

Wow, I can't believe this amazing and inspirational song by the super talented Byron Cage is now 20 years old. I remember the choir at my church when I lived in Atlanta would sing this every now and then and I would completely loose it. Such a powerful statement, simply glorifying God! I was driving around Miami one evening this summer and heard this silky smooth voice on the radio, at first I thought it was a long lost B-side of an old Marvin Gaye song. Later I found out is was "Back to Your Place" by a young new artist: October London, I was completely blown away. I immediately grabbed his album and it's been on repeat ever since. Whew, "Make Me Wanna" is so smooth and just flat out cool and ready for a sophisticated "Soulful House" dance floor. Enjoy!!!

Way back in 1978 I was just a mere 11 years old but I was already falling in love with the music. One of my favorite albums back then was Heatwave's "Central Heating" maaaan that album is still Off The Hook to this very day. "The Star of a Story" written by the late great Rod Temperton was definitely one of my favorites on the album and featured the incredible Wilder Brothers (Johnnie & Keith) harmonizing the amazing vocals and Eric Johns doing an epic guitar solo. I realized the other day that I haven't done an all "Gospel House" set in two years (Wow). I figured if there was ever a time for me to put together an uplifting Gospel set now would definitely be the time. If we can't agree on anything else, I'm sure we all can agree that 2020 has been a challenging year that we will never forget, a year for the ages. I know for me I've leaned on my music this year more than ever before. Music has lifted me when I was feeling down and given me a safe space where I could think, laugh, cry, praise, dance and just put my head back and raise my hands and totally be Free! Hopefully "Sunday Morning" will help do that for you. I grabbed a coupe of new gems but most of these songs are some of my old favorites, so make some time and get ready to "Dance like David Danced." \o/

Every now and then when I put together a Mix and can't really seem to "finish my thoughts" with just that one set of songs. This is the case with my last Gospel House mix from a couple of weeks ago, "Thank You" picks right up where "Sunday Mornin" left off.  This high energy playlist starts off with a powerful prayer of "Thanksgiving" by my childhood Pastor out of Detroit: Dr. Charles G. Adams. From there we just jump into the musical praise with "Bangers" from: Jasper Street Co., Mary Mary, Fred hammond and more. Thank You

It was 1980 in Detroit Michigan where I first fell in Love with this Music. I was 13 years old and the Music of Choice for Me and my Friends was Progressive Dance Music. We didn't know it at the time but We were actually creating a Musical Lifestyle of sorts that would follow many of us the rest of our lives.

Sure there would be periods when no music was bought and no new mixes were produced, but time would go by and before you knew it This Music Thing would just Grab hold to Me again...

In 2012 My Musical Journey started again! This dance music would prompt me to start mixing on the web via my YouTube Channel with over 45K followers, and Soundcloud with over 5K and counting... This music would even take me around the U.S and as far away as Beijing China to DJ (Twice). I'm  really excited now more than ever because I am are currently living in Miami and DJing at my residency at N'Namdi Contemporary Gallery.
