love this track, but it’s giving me too much of an energy drop and vibe shift from the high energy of the two funky previous tracks. Something that could work here might be an afro house remix of a disco or funky track, to introduce a new energy (afro house) while keeping some cohesion between the two vibes

love the new drums coming in here! Great energy build. But I’m noticing that the keys of the two tracks clash in a way that takes me out of the moment

Bala is giving me downregulation, emotional release energy here (similar to Heaven Takes You Home from the last crate). I wonder if this track could be more impactful if it was played after the peak

great smooth transition here! But Coming Down is giving me 6 energy, not 3 energy (the lyrics also suggest it could work better after the peak, literally saying “Coming Down” ;) )

These tracks are really fun together! But the midrange felt crowded during the transition (different phrasing or more EQ blending could help).

I’m curious if the lyrics “everyone in the club, fuck it up right now” would feel out of place for the yoga retreat boomer/yogi setting. The track is so fun though - I wonder if there is a way you could beat jump over just that section (or at least have the option to - maybe you’d read the crowd and it would feel totally appropriate!)

The heart is not just about love and light. In our hearts, we hold all the multitudes that enrich our experience of love: we hold longing, grief, courage, terror, joy, transcendence, divinity, and the awareness of transience. In this ecstatic dance, therefore, we explore the entirety of our human emotional experience, in order to access the fullness of our hearts.

"It's Not Just Love and Light." Live at Heartscapes Sept 26 2025 Picton Ontario

Hey! Thanks for listening! This mix was created for PHDJ Bootcamp Week 4 Mix Assignment- 7 Tracks. Except for one song, I used only new tracks from the DJ Essential Crate that I hadn't used the previous week. That made it difficult to create an arc, so I split the first song and used it to open and close the set. It’s not a perfect recording, as I heard a little bleed-through on one transition, and I lost some momentum between a transition in the middle.
Additionally, the fading out on the 2nd-to-last song was wonky. But my "Tasha’s action figure" on my shoulder said it’s good enough for now.  Lots of time to get perfect on things as I have more time moving forward.  I used EQs, Volume control, big tempo changes, and went beyond intros into outros.
