Aroused from Slumber

A Shade of Blue

I was sitting on the sofa on Christmas Eve enjoying the Christmas tree lights
A cup of spiced egg nog in my hand 
Everything was feeling alright. 
And then I heard something rustling inside  the Christmas tree
And I saw a furry tail waving back at me.

And then it turned around and stared at me with two little yellow eyes
And I realized I was having a special Christmas surprise

There’s a critter in the Christmas Tree 
Santa brought a little surprise for me
If I don’t get that creature out of my home  
I’m goanna be spending my Christmas alone
Maybe I could eat for my Christmas feast
But I think a better option is to catch and release

I stood there like a deer in the headlights not sure how to proceed
I went to the garage and got a pair of gloves cause if it bit me I didn’t want to bleed.
I approached the Christmas tree and I realized he was no longer there
I searched the entire house I couldn’t find him anywhere

If I don’t get that creature out of my home  
I’m gonna be spending my Christmas alone


So I decided not to worry and have Christmas at my house anyway
I convinced myself he was a gift from Santa and everything would be okay

And lucky for me Christmas went perfectly this year without a hitch
now every night I leave a bowl of water and some carrots and some tuna fish
Every morning when I wake up the food put out is gone 
And sometimes I see cute little footprints on out there on the front lawn.

I think he comes down the Chimney the same way Santa does.
Cause In the bottom of the fireplace sometimes I see bits of fur and fuzz

There was a critter in my Christmas Tree

Now when I’m sitting by myself at home.
Thanks to Santa I never feel alone

GRATITUDE - It's all about the music!

It took me some time to finish this tune, as I composed this almost a decade ago. For some reason, many other musical projects kept distracting me from investing the kind of time this tune, “GRATITUDE”, required and I believe deserved. 
But, I decided to not let it remain on the back burner any longer. 
I’m happy to say I finally got it done.

This tune is all about the gratitude I have towards everything that encompasses music. There’s gratitude simply for music existing in the first place. It’s my heartfelt tribute towards the art of music in all its forms. It is also just as much a tribute to ALL the musicians, from all walks of life, famous and not so famous... with some of course being highly influential and motivational for me on a personal level, all of which have been a source of inspiration in one way or another over the course of my life.

The essence of music is one of those big unanswered mysteries in the human experience. Why is it that we humans perceive the sounds of music in the way we do? No one has ever really come up with a plausible explanation, yet music remains as a special art form that has existed throughout modern civilization and has been expressed in countless ways. It’s pretty incredible… isn’t it?!

So, I conclude with the hopes that you will give a good listen to my tune “GRATITUDE”. 
After all this is a tribute to every one out there... whether you are a fellow musician, or the non-musician that simply loves to listen to music and one that embraces this wonderful and diverse art form.
