Last summer into late spring, I started building up a collection of fast-paced, uptempo tech house. Think Bolier Room UK; Chris Stussy, salute, Kolter. It's all a serious vibe. Mix in a cocktail of some funky bassline hitters, and you have Second Nature. This one is a collection of all my faves from this year and my season end, Summer wrap-up. Back in the day, Mt. Doyle was known for his smooth taste in Drum & Bass and his unmatched love for pizza. But it wasn't long before Doyle expanded his horizons to include Funk, House, Hip-Hop and Bass, all with his soulful West Coast flavour. He quickly became a staple in the BC electronic music scene, known not only for his multi-genre sets but his range of recorded mixes as well.

Over the past 10 years, Mt. Doyle has played lounges, clubs and festivals all over the North West, including Shambhala, Lightning In A Bottle, Rifflandia, Electric Love, Wicked Woods, Friendzy Fest, Fozzy Fest, Bamboo Bass, Astral Harvest, Ska Fest, Sun Fest and The Tall Tree Festival. In that time he’s shared the stage with international heavyweights Aphrodite, Camo & Krooked, Ed Solo, A.Skillz, Stickybuds, The Funk Hunters, Chali 2na, JFB, Dub FX, Rusko, Technimatic, LSB & DRS, Serial Killaz, Dub Pistols, Ray Keith, Netsky and Andy C.

In 2016 Mt. Doyle started The Hydration Mix Series, a monthly Liquid Drum & Bass podcast with DJs Akela, Willisist, Erski, Reflektor, Lasu and DJ Surgeon. Later that year Doyle took on a whole new style as he joined the ranks of Victoria based Hip-Hop band Illvis Freshly, where he made his singing debut. Now, when he's not solo, you can catch his live set with Doyle on vocals and Philly on the guitar.

Over the years Mt. Doyle has established himself as one of the most versatile DJs on Vancouver Island. With a mountainous lust for music and style that keeps you guessing, Mt. Doyle will keep bodies moving any time, any place, with whatever the hell he wants.

Multi-Genre sound alchemist. Dancefloor architect. Expect the unexpected.

Xavier's passion and dedication towards his artistry as a DJ is undeniable. For over two decades, his infectious energy and sincere authentic love for music have driven him forward as an artist. Throughout his twenties, Xavier’s focus was purely Breakbeats; nothing could pull his attention. As he moved through the decade, his tastes shifted, and eventually, the magnetism of House music could no longer be ignored. Once cemented in the confidence of his newfound love for House, everything came into focus and his purpose became clear.

From his countless nights early on, sharing the stage at Hush Nightclub - a queer-forward, underground safe-haven, with top-shelf electronic acts such as Alex Metric, Stanton Warriors, or Nora En Pure; to travelling deep into the BC backcountry on a Saturday night to perform - sometimes for only a handful of ravers; to dragging a 50 pound bag of vinyl up a fight of stairs in the suburbs; to playing sold-out shows, opening for artists like Chris Lake, AC Slater, or Justin Martin, it didn't matter to Xavier, because it meant that he could share his love for the music. Wherever he was: outdoors, indoors, a club, a basement, a farmhouse, a garage, a warehouse; people were there to listen, and he was there to play.

Xavier's ultimate goal is to share the music that resonates with him on a deeper level, hoping that it will also ignite a fire in the souls of his listeners. Music has a way of evoking powerful emotions and connecting people on a profound level. Having recently rediscovered that internal fire of focus & passion within himself, Xavier is relentless in the pursuit of a musical experience that not only entertains but leaves a lasting impact on those who are there to listen.
