From the recent remix of John Newman – Love Me Again to the first appearance on Sleazy Deep, the duet sail between a deep-house dance-floor oriented to a melancholic house music, as a journey. 

Like this summer in Ibiza where Vijay & Sofia decided to create this duo.

As a couple, in life and behind the decks, Vijay & Sofia, they lead the discussion on social network and on the dance-floors since 2 years, but the career of Vijay started well before, with collaborations as the like of Nico Pusch or Rodriguez Jr. Without forgetting the past, Vijay open the doors to the duet at the end of 2012.

An artist can share his life only with another artist, and that's why the duo works so well. Sofia has the soul of an artist that sticks to the skin. A well-chosen word for a tattoo artist. This graphic artist with a strong universe is also a huge fan of music and dance (More than 12 years as dancer) and Vijay led him to be with him behind the decks and software productions.

An undisputed legend of the UK dance scenes, DJ Paulette brought energy and unmatched charisma to We Out Here both across The Bowl and The Talks Tent.

Born and raised in Manchester, her 30-year career has seen her scale the heights of dance music fame and hedonism playing disco, house and techno across the globe.

One of the original residents of the Hacienda, DJ Paulette’s career has seen her hold down residencies at renowned clubs and radio stations alongside stints on the Parisian and Ibizan circuits.

Last year marked the release of her debut book ‘Welcome To The Club: The life and lessons of a black woman DJ’ a read that provides insight into her career while not shying away from discussing the difficulties and disparities our industry holds for women and musicians of colour on their path to success. A must read in our opinion.

Social Criticism in Lauryn Hill's 'Doo Wop (That Thing)'
Lauryn Hill's song 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' is an empowerment anthem and a sharp social critique, released in 1998 as part of her acclaimed album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill'. The song addresses themes of self-respect, sexuality and the dangers of being carried away by appearances and materialism.
In the first verse, Hill speaks directly to women, warning them about the dangers of allowing themselves to be used by men who are only interested in 'that thing'. She criticizes the idea that women must conform to standards of beauty and behavior in order to be accepted or loved, mentioning 'hair weaves like Europeans' and 'fake nails done by Koreans' as examples of how women are pressured to conform to external standards. The artist also references religious and historical figures, such as Jezebel, to illustrate the consequences of straying from one's own principles and values.
The second verse is directed at men, criticizing those who prioritize material possessions and status over their responsibilities and relationships. Hill calls out toxic behaviors such as domestic violence and irresponsible fatherhood, and questions how these men can hope to succeed in life if they are not right on the inside. The song ends with a dialogue that reflects on the difference between love and being in love, suggesting that true love goes beyond the surface and accepts a person as they are. 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' is a powerful reminder that self-respect and integrity are key, and that we should be aware of the pitfalls of materialism and objectification in interpersonal relationships.

Naples is under siege, as always. Everybody wants a piece of it. Everybody is in search of the essence of the city, and it’s sound. A hunt such as this one, is so cruel, that originality risks the extinction within the goal of fake authenticities, being them musical, cultural, or artistic. Enough is enough! It is time to react. It is time to give back to the city what is rightfully theirs, before the other’s who wish to steal it forever, acquire it first. Time before samplers colonised the global acoustic imagery, here, in Naples, throughout its metropolitan spaces and rhythms, such beautiful tracks have been recorded that once you listen to them, they remain indelible.
