Following a strong 2020 in which the label released acclaimed EPs from Piers Kirwan, Cyclonix, Lay-Far and a collective of rising stars based in the Italian city of Bologna, we have decided to kick-start 2021 with a first label outing from Terry Tester.

This Danish producer, is no newcomer, having first come to the attention of distinguished listeners as part of production duo The Works at the tail end of the 2010s. Since then, he’s delivered a handful of admired EPs for Mixed Ape Music, Copenhagen Underground Posse and, most recently, Creak Inc.

Given his quietly impressive track record, it’s no surprise that he has delivered the goods on his Boogie Café debut. The EP’s four original tracks bristle with hazy melodiousness, combining dusty musical motifs and deliciously deep sounds, with tried-and-tested dancefloor grooves.

He sets the tone with ‘Dubby’, an ultra-deep and hypnotic late-night excursion in which echoing, soulful vocal snippets and rich riffs rise above a raw, analogue bassline and fizzing drums, before offering an even more atmospheric outing in the shape of the bass-heavy broken beat/deep house fusion of ‘Breeze Unlimited’, where jazzy piano solos and spacey chords catch the ear.

Terry's love of grimy old drum machines and weighty analogue basslines is explored further on ‘Nite Mood’, a locked-in number that remains deep and alluring thanks to some spell-binding chords and yearning musical flourishes, while the bustling and busy ‘Hangover Jam’ boasts some brilliant percussion programming, whistling synthesizer melodies and one of his most impactful basslines to date. To round off the EP, Boogie Café label partner Chezz delivers a sublime interpretation of ‘Hangover Jam’, successfully re-imagining the track as a deep, melodious, jazz-funk flavoured broken beat jam.

Frank & Tony drop their new Dream Vibration EP some 5 years after their last outing as a duo with the much-celebrated Odes EP. 

Having teased the full release with two upfront tracks - Time Out Of Mind and Timmy Regisford’s masterful instrumental rework of Stretch Out Like The World, we now get to enjoy the full package. 

Title track Dream Vibration kicks off with a lazy breakbeat, floating, barely-there chord washes and eventually and slowly reveals a thick, low kick and deep sub to drive things along. 

Frank & Tony’s original version of Stretch Out Like The World features Eliana Glass on vocals - a melancholic but tough track that exudes a classic in the making. 

Timmy Regisford’s vocal mix amps up the percussion to create a hypnotic club jam idea for an early morning Shelter dancefloor.

On the eve of the release of his new album 'Les Délivrés', an extension of his soundtrack illustrating this poignant documentary on the struggle of the Uber Eats or Delivroo drivers, Maxime Dangles unveils 'Matin Bleu'.

Maxime Dangles entered the electronic music scene 15 years ago on the Kompakt label, collecting prestigious remixes (Moby, Green Velvet, Simian Mobile Disco, Kittin & The Hacker...). Reference of the international electronic scene, he’s renowned for his immersive and singular sound design that he shapes with his modular synths.

Nourished by the feelings of the protagonists of the documentary such as struggle, anger, stress, alienation or hope, Maxime Dangles signs here a militant soundtrack that prolongs the struggle of the Délivrés in a poetic way between IDM, electronica and ambient. With 'Matin Bleu', hope and the dream of a better life are translated with this contemplative and melancholic electronica track mixing delicate and sensitive piano notes with his singular modular sound that has made his trademark. A crossover of electronic and contemporary music reminiscent of Yann Tiersen's latest compositions or Fabrizio Rat.

The single is accompanied by a remix by French electro-pop revelation Penelope Antena, who revisits the track in a bright and unifying minimal house version.

'Les Délivrés' LP will be available on vinyl and digital February, 17th on Lifeguards - a new sub-label of Astropolis Records, and Maxime Dangles will premiere his new live show at Astropolis l'Hiver February, 11th

After releasing tape albums and mixtapes since two years now, the label offers a de- but record from the ‘’ Organic means ‘’ featuring boss label LB aka LABAT & Polow along side Mr.Fries from Dortmund and Kamoony in Paris.
Presenting a four track record freshly demonstrating each artists vibe for the dance floor. « Do your Thang EP» delivers a good balance between massive banger like «Nowords» and a more deep house side with «Nu Dreamz».
On the other hand , side B of the record features a debut release on wax for Polow with «Darious» a late night joint with dreamy vocals.
To conclude the various Kamoony presents us a soulful and spiritual piece of music influenced by the 3 chairs vibes and the Rotating Assembly.
