 You may have already noticed that there's more than a strong connection between the Manchester "Red Laser" label & LYO ! Antoine aka LeonxLeon (who made a slick remix of Cerrone uploaded yesterday) released some highly acclaimed tracks for the imprint in the past and we had the RL headhoncho "Il Bosco" contribute to our mix series and appear as special secret-guest for one of our parties here in Paris. The brotherhood is here to stay as Camille aka "Alan Dente" from our infamous crew, delivers a banger on the next Red Laser EP 8 alongside Kid Machine, Starion and Tommy Walker 3. So here is the perfect sunrise heater for wide eyes and wider smiles. Strutting its stuff between "Prelude" and "Carrere", "Smokey Mountains" sees Mr Dente pairing proto drum programming with "Bobby O" bass and classic Italo synthlines, while those "Rockers Revenge" vocals and heartlifting synthlines raise the roof. The result is nothing short of a dancefloor anthem, get ready to hear that one a lot in our gigs and elsewhere ! Don't sleep, it lands on February 12 in Piccadilly, Juno and all around the world !

PREMIERE : Alan Dente - Smokey Mountains

A new group strut their way down the Bordello boardwalk. The chameleon outfit of Yellocat, emblazoned with colour, arrive with Dans La Boutique and are true to their debut 12” title. A deep wardrobe of styles has been raided for this four track EP. First comes the latin funk of “Mi Hermano”, a lust laden duet of sweet chords and dancefloor desires, before the lounge romance of “Tout À Moi.” Language is played with, Spanish shimmies into French before English takes over the flip. “Rivals of Mars” is brash interplanetary battle. Synthlines glisten against vocoder lyrics in an epic struggle between our world and theirs. The pop-scented warmth of “Chasing the Light” leads the 12” out, a ballad of late night excess amidst the glass and steel of the city.

Hailing from Brunswick, Melbourne, James and Peter Isaacs are the brotherly duo Donald’s House. They’ve been making music for around eight years.Without fail, every lunch time when making music, they’ll go to Sesame & Soul on Lygon St and order a cheese pie and Za’atar bread. James usually orders a coke zero as well.

This EP here is a collection of tracks written over a three year period. There’s a seven year age gap between the two. Pete got James into dance music by taking him to one of his parties that featured Pearson Sound and Mark Pritchard.After that, they started making music together. James is a trained Jazz guitarist, while Pete has been buying and playing records for about 15 years.

They’ve released two tracks with Sydney label Ken Oath. One on their debut sampler and one on their ambient tape. 
They previously lived in London, where they regularly attended CDR. This is where they met the dj Iona, who was the catalyst for the whole release and a mutual friend of theirs and Nick Höppner.

Taking influence from Paradise Garage styled disco, early 90s House, Italo and anything with a DMX drum kit, their take on dance dance music is as refreshing as it is familiar.You’ll often hear M1 solos, chords and stabs, juxtaposed against Phil Collins styled stadium drums, and groovy Seinfeld basslines that just beg your body to move.

Angela was the studio project of husband/wife duo Angela and Ingo Werner formed in 1981 in Rüsselsheim, Germany. Ingo had classical training in bassoon and piano at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt from 1966-70. He joined Krautrock band My Solid Ground in 1971 before going on to form his own project Baba Yaga in 1974.  In the late 70s he formed the ensemble AIR with Armin Stöwe and Reinhard Karwatky. The project debuted with  a a concert at ARS Electronica Competition in Linz, Austria 1980, which they won. Klaus Schulze was on the jury with Wendy Carlos and Robert Moog - but more importantly, Angela was in the audience. Two days later, Ingo told the band he needed a singer, so they asked Angela, and recorded two albums for RCA between 1981-82 before being dropped. Ingo wanted to work on a new project that involved dancers and live video. They recruited American performance artist Jyl Porch, who was living in Munich, to assist with choreography with her friend Kirsten McKenley. Jyl ended up recording her own album first, which gained interest from Klaus Schulze, who helped them secure a deal with EMI in 1983. Later that year, the trio recorded 4 songs that would be released on Angela ‘Fantasy’ single on 7” and 12” formats in 1984.
The music on ‘Fantasy’ was completely created with computer software of Ingo’s own design. The concept of a polyrhythmic, polyphonic, and polydynamic sequencer was realized by Ingo after a visit to Wolfgang Palm in Hamburg. He paired his sequencer with Palm’s legendary PPG Wave Computer System, allowing for more dynamic and nuanced programming. Angela programmed the music, sang, and wrote the lyrics to “Painted Love”, while Ingo arranged and played all electronics and keyboards. Jyl wrote the lyrics for “Fantasy” and the slow and sleazy, electronic disco B-side “I Gotta Little Love”, where she also sings background vocals and the “hot little flame” rap. The original B-side to the 7” version was a cover of the 1967 Hal Hackady and Lee Pockriss song “Kites”, made famous by Simon Dupree and the Big Sound.  All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The EP features the original 1984 cover artwork with a striking photo of Angela styled by Jyl in severe Neue Deutsche Welle fashion, and includes an insert with lyrics and and photos designed by Maycec.

Up & coming local talent Lujiachi sucks you to the dim light of Taipei darkness, night-crawling the way with Industrial drum pattern, spooky East Asian horn and swaggy bassline that's as unpredictable and addictive as there is. B2 & B3 sees Stockholms wizard Samo DJ remixes - showcasing his trademark weirdo slow motion electro / dubby stamps strictly made out of MPC.
