Hot on the heels of their debut 12" release on Belgium's finest Token, the duo takes us on a fevered two-hour trip across spine-tingling mosaics and subterranean fractals of sound. Dekmantel Selectors 2021 was a much needed musical reunion. After the preceding period of stillness, the catharsis and pure joy of finally being together again has been overwhelming. In the words of Simo Cell: "It's 7pm, and I have 5 missed calls on my phone: 'We're expecting massive rain tonight and we will have to close your stage earlier, is it okay for you to play earlier?' No time to stress and to think about it. I left my place and started my set straight away. From a few people to a packed dancefloor, I built up slowly from 90bpm to 160bpm (you know the drill). Pretty happy about the progression of the set and the rise in intensity. In the end, the crowd turned into a mosh pit on XXXtentacion and I had the best time behind the decks. It's good when things sometimes happen spontaneously like that. And it didn't rain after all."

Dekmantel Selectors 2021 was a much needed musical reunion. After the preceding period of stillness, the catharsis and pure joy of finally being together again has been overwhelming. In the words of Fafi Abdel Nour: "At first, I was quite anxious about everything, but having lots of familiar faces around made me feel at ease. It has been a long time since I felt comfortable enough to dance during my own set and it's a feeling that I don't want to let go anymore! Still buzzing from it."

Solid Steel in association with Serato (20th May) In Hour 1 we're delighted to welcome back Lone to Solid Steel for his 3rd time on the show. He first appeared in 2007 as part of Kids In Tracksuits and then again as Lone in 2009, and you can hear both mixes at SolidSteel.net . Lone's albums and live sets have touched a lot of musical ground. He's demonstrated his long-standing love of 90s hip hop, passing penchant for the bright lights and sounds of hardcore alongside his career defining old school house releases. All steeped in nostalgia whilst bringing a dance floor ready sound from the in-between places of your consciousness, making you feel warm and fuzzy without quite knowing why. His latest mix for Solid Steel perfectly showcases what his club sets are sounding like and he had this to say about his mix;
"I wanted to put together a club friendly mix for Solid Steel, something containing a bunch of the sort of tunes I'm playing out at the moment. Having said that, I didn't want to go completely one way like that, so I tried to put something together that could work just as easily as a home listening mix - it was fun trying to bridge that gap. I also saw this as a good excuse to showcase a bunch of forthcoming material from our MagicWire label, so there's quite a few exclusives here... even some stuff I'm working on under a different name...."

Mumdance embraces a much wider world of sound than many. The UK producer is an experienced collaborator who grounds his sounds in anything from grime to breaks, techno to hardcore, experimental to world and afro. Making textured noise with a module set up, playing sets that run a dizzying gamut of genres and performing live with the likes of Novelist, he is a restless creative who works with labels like Tectonic, Keysound Recordings and XL Recordings. On top of all this, he runs his own Different Circles label, heads up one of Rinse FM’s most popular radio shows and designed sound presents for the relaunched 303 and 909 machines by Roland.

His mix for us is a beguiling, hard to categorise blend of all of this, forthcoming stuff and more: from brain frying frequencies and skeletal grooves from somewhere on the hardcore continuum to sci-fi ambiance, deep techno rhythms and immersive passages of raved-up sound design, it is a singular proposition from someone who embodies many different aspects of UK electronic music past, present and future, often all at once.

After coming back from Hamburg to his home city Turin, Edoardo Zerbinati totally reorganized his life, together with setting up a new studio in the town.

Back in that cloudy, rainy, romantic place where he was initiated to the Techno music culture, he saw the release of his debut album on Silent Season and, after that, the label has been selected as “label of the month” by Resident Advisor.

Some months later, the canadian label also put out an Edanticonf’s EP with a remix by the mysterious Sweden producer Abdulla Rashim. This collaboration on a limited vinyl was charted in the Top Techno Chart by some of the most important vinyl shops through the world.

All the textures in this set are written and produced by Edoardo Zerbinati with using mainly analog equipment (additional production by Iori and Decoside, remixed by Edanticonf). A lot of pieces of music are unreleased or played in a live version and due to this reason it’s not possible to attach a complete track list. The man and the perception of the infinite are the main themes of his compositions; Techno music lends itself to this goal with the integration of sounds inspired by natural landscapes.
