From the very start of Bonebrokk’s debut album, we are plunged into a downward spiral of industrial percussion and distorted voices. ‘Altered Realities’ builds a terrifying maelstrom out of what sounds like an engine in a deep tunnel, a seismic alarm, and a hype MC calling for help through a busted intercom. Soon a galloping kick appears and we are off to the races. From there, the record rarely lets up.

The sonic palette remains fairly consistent throughout, but the album covers a lot of ground rhythmically and stylistically, touching on deformed dancehall, hyperfuture dnb (Vassilina’s guest spot provides one of the few moments of relative tenderness), and loads of mutant, latin-inflected techno rollers. Two beatless interludes provide breathers—‘Timelines Melt’ and ‘Valey of Wolves’— although, as the titles might suggest, even these are steeped in dread.

Bonebrokk has crafted ‘In Between Two Worlds’ as a bridge into an imagined world that he can escape to, a respite from the banality of day jobs and our mundane everyday existence that club music can provide for us all.

when u enter a crawlspace you feel humidity all around, from the wet walls to the ground. Yairku is a dark, yet textured place . . .

Razmiel ( my master of a tactile, virtual soundscape ) conceived this dense, atmospheric journey that expands and collapses its sonic space without any warning. through thick, wet kicks and high-pitched textures, I find myself in club areas, spontaneous noise panoramas, or even cathartic guitar riffs 0_o
with all that in mind, the EP stays emotional and poetic, delivering unconventional climaxes, and moments of silence for a deep inhale.

i listened to it for the 1st time, then 2nd, then 3rd, and still was hungry for more. Razmiel always makes me want to stay in their world for way longer than I imagined . . . ♡

It mimics the experience of scrolling thru reels and other content and getting bombarded with all kinds of emotions in a short period of time. It gets you excited and brings feelings of joy, wonder, nostalgia, perplexity and sometimes discomfort.

The Random Web Dump Mix consist mostly of music and content that the internet has thrown at me but also some live recorded instagram scrolling. (That is what was probably the most influential part, music wise for me at the beginning of the year 2024.)
